Loved this band 81/82 but they were over in the punk & so was the UK scene by this time this is them wanting to be a serious Rock band really but no one in the Rock scene had heard of them

Like a lot of bands especially then they get bit successful & they change their style totally thinking it will get them somewhere better songs etc but it never works like Chron Gen found out.

I think the actual released versions were better albeit a little over produced and clean. Don’t know why ‘birds don’t sing’ wasn’t on the original release. Always loved Chron Gen as someone who was bought up listening to the more ‘77 sound of punk I always found them a bit more accessible than some of the more trashier bands from the ‘81 ‘82 scene although I did get into Discharge GBH etc
