78 Kawasaki KZ750 Twin

My friend had one & with passengers it kept up with my Gpz750A2 four until maybe 80mph. Never got attention like the 4cyl Kawasaki or other 70's bikes but that twin never failed to impress us. He died few yr ago but seeing this brings great memories - You have a lovely bike

Got one of these years ago, boxes of parts, chain was rusted solid, put it back together, pretty much all there, soaked the parts in oil for a week. Drove it to work nearby a few times. Was a fun low rpm torquey thumper, though kick starter wanted to break my leg a few times. Liked it better than the 750 4 cyl I rode everywhere for years, 5A.M. pouring rain and freezing cold sucked, but it got me to work and back when times were tough.

I have buy in 1977 a new KZ750B Twin, and still have it.Later i have buy 2x KZ750B Twin from 1976. Know i like to know what chain cover you have on the green bike. Because a European = oem 36014-064 in plastic, a USA = oem 36014-062 in plastic. So i like to have a chrome chain cover. Will you help me? Greetings from Belgium.

I had a new one early 80’s it didn’t have any power was all l could do to get it to 80 mph. Something definitely wrong with that.

did you do any carb jetting or tuning for the 2 into 1 exhaust? I have an 83 twin, stock air box and 2 into 1, just wondering if it runs lean and if I need to rejet

Cats n Cars with the Mac 2-1 you shouldn't have to rejet. Should be good to go👍

Every old bike i own I up jut the main 5 numbers. Factory always leans them out for mpg and government. Add just a little bit more gas and they run cooler and alive.

Always up jet about 5 numbers on old bikes. Brings them to life. Factory does make them lean for mpg advertising and to make the government happy

No. Very smooth due to two balancer shafts. Very quiet engine (and standard exhaust) although this one sounds a little rattly. 'wish I had one now!

Like a washing machine in an out of balance spin cycle! It's why they were discontinued.
