Finally got my parts back that I sent out for paintwork, tail section, gas tank, fender and headlight. It's about 90 % done . Just gotta make a seat pad and relocate the battery into the tail section

If anyone is curious, I am the new owner of this bike. The original owner/builder passed away a while ago. The bike is still in amazing condition. I ride her all the time.

Nice bike. Wouldn't hurt to out some fork gators on the front, looks a bit skinny with that wheel dominating

@corey Renner the bike runs great actually. When running open pipes like this, you have to go up a bit on the jetting. I went one step up on the idol jets and running 150's for my mans. And also have 152's on hand just in case I had to go up one more step. The needles are in the stock location, and I have the needle screws turned out around three and a quarter turns . Now I'm also running open velocity stacks too. And with this setup, this bike runs like a monster. And throttle response right there too. I've tried to tune before, using air filter pods and the bike just never ran quite right. Probably if you were to run air filter pods, you might need a little bit back pressure on the exhaust side of it to kinda even everything out.

@ Colin McCafferty. Hey bro. Its a MAC 4 into 1. But I only used the front header. And then put on a 45 degree turn down exhaust tip on the end . Then wrap up in titanium exhaust wrap. Sounds pretty good.

@derek jent thanks bro! It's a MAC 4 into 1 chrome exhaust . I only use the front header. Then picked up a chrome exhaust tip turn down with a coupler and riveted onto the collector part of the header. then wrapped the exhaust system with titanium exhaust wrap, and that's it. Just to let you know, this thing is really loud on the highway when ripping it lol.

alright i see the exhaust, online to buy. With your tip, are they left open pipe, or is there any back pressure? I've heard that you can have some running issues without back pressure on these things, or you'll have to re-jet the carbs, etc. Sounds great though and will likely be following your example for the sound. Did you have to do any carb work, or are you having any issues with it running right?

Hey, thunderbluelex, really sick bike here, nice work! I just had a few questions about your bikes: Do you personally build custom bikes for people? If not, do you work at a shop that builds custom cafe racers? And, the last one, what price range are your custom builds similar to this? I'm saving for my first bike that I should be able to afford by next summer, but I'm really enthralled by cafe racers, Yamaha especially. Also, could I get your opinion on an issue I'm having: Do you think a cafe racer would be a better choice as my first bike, or would a sport bike be the better choice? I initially gravitate towards the style of cafe racers, but I'm also considering getting a sport bike as my first bike. This is mainly because of the maintenance/upkeep issue with cafe racers: I know if a particular part breaks, it can be really hard to find a replacement, especially with custom builds. And because I'll be a beginner, I'll be more concerned with learning to ride on my bike, than constantly making sure I have potential replacements for all the parts on the bike, you know? Not that the " mechanic" aspect won't come with time, but, as a beginner, mainly I'll be looking for riding thrill. With a sport bike, maintenance and parts are just a drive away to the local dealer, so there's potentially a lot less hassle on my end. And, if I want to learn on the bike and start riding without anxiety about parts holding up, a sport bike seems like a more practical choice. I don't know, maybe that's why a lot of custom cafe racers are side project bikes. Maybe the cafe racer parts availability issue is just a myth, I'm not sure.. But anyway, from your expertise with cafes, what do you think about the whole situation, man??

Love the seat/tank combo. Any info on where to find those components would be greatly appreciated. I'm building an 81...gsxr 600 front and rear, mono shock, fuel injection, 1196 big bore, possibly turbo. Been looking for the 2H7-1100-00-05 tank, but can't find one anywhere.

Dude killer bike, what did you do to the engine and transmission? My bike is slipping 2nd gear, I have the new gear and transmission gear shaft. I have some leaks that I’d like to fix, and I don’t have an oil cooler on it. Let me know if you want to work on my bike I’ll pay you . Your bike is very responsive. Great job!!!!!!

Scott Waldick. i believe, mains 150 or 152. idle jets , 1 step up from stock. I think 45.5. air idle srew, started with 3 turns out , then went from there in tuning. had 3 of these bikes, and each one was a little different from each other.

xzqzq hey bro. Its a kicker a 77 kz 1000 actually. Just have to tweak it to clear the rear brake pedal arm . I'm using a lithium ion battery from "Battery Tender. There a lot smaller then the stock batteries and plenty of power for what you to do. And I have had a chance to weigh the bike yet but it's probably still around 600 or so. She's a heavy bitch lol
