@@ChrisHallRides I'll second that, I also enjoyed the laidback pace of the soundtrack. Not some dodgy dance track over the top either; just contemporary music which was fitting with the pace of the race I saw on camera.

The cycling and adventure is always a draw for these videos but what shines through in them that I think makes them so joyous to watch is the camaraderie - it really shows how as much as I enjoy cycling solo for my own mental health I really find magnified joy in a tough days riding shared with friends. Amazing journey Chris, close to tears at the end 😢 it’s astonishing what the human body can be put through when needed, to see the shared emotions and torment at the end was so moving. What a race badlands is! I have enjoyed following you all during the race watching the dots and sending well wishes via instagram Dm’s. I hope one day to complete such a race. The whole brotherhood that evolves during this event reminds of my days in the military, whether it was a training exercise or during combat situations, you are there for one another no matter how hard it gets and it’s only that mental strength and sharing of anguish that gets you through and out the other side. Well done again and here’s to next year! 😮😉

Well done, loved your account of the race. Makes me want to give it a shot. Loving what you have done with your sunglasses, and might just be thing I am looking for, I am mean you have your glasses strapped hanging around your neck. I am bugger for buying glasses, putting them done somewhere losing them or cracking arms, or struggling to stick in the helmet vents once on the move = clumsy. Tis' why I've had a habit of buying the cheapest glasses I can find. In my last vlog I wore glasses I picked up for less than a £10 from Brighton Beach back in 2020, every now and again I bring them out, they look very 'civilian', crap anti-fog, crap at protecting my eyes down the sides, a no-go at night, but I think I look pretty cool and sometimes that's just as important ha. Perhaps I'll take a leaf out of your book buy some good ones and get some straps.

How cold was it at night? I'm signed up for 2023 (next week) and thinking of sleeping in a SOL bivy, with my lightweight down jacket if necessary. I do have a lightweight Sea to Summit Spark III sleeping bag which is rated to -2C, but thought that would be overkill so wasn't planning on bringing it. Hard to judge the nighttime temps though!!

@@ChrisHallRides Thanks for getting back Chris 🙂 Is the rubber strap to mount the light to the front of the bike from Silva? - their website just shows a mount that you have to stick on to the front of your helmet? And the battery at the back of your helmet - what have you used to mount it directly to the helmet (again Silva just shows an extension cable and you chuck the battery in to your back pack!) Sorry to go on - just that your set up is exactly what I'd like - both light and battery mounted directly to your helmet... 🤘🏼Stevie
