The whole notion that beliefs always are and should be based solely on “evidence” is SO flawed. You need a belief-system to evaluate evidence, a starting framework. It’s especially annoying coming from physicalists. They presume physicalism and demand evidence their presumption is wrong. Even good evidence that it is wrong (like a laundry list of things inexplicable or contradictory) is then explained as “well that’s just all made of matter”. As if running around with a Christian metaphysics and adding “and that’s just made of matter” is reasonable or coherent.
