Oooo, sounds intriguing! I'm definitely interested in boards for building such a replica system in the future. 🙂

Definitely interested in seeing more. These older systems are nice to tinker with and I like the projects where I can buy bare boards and then populate them as budget allows rather than paying several hundred dollars for each one. Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback. In terms of complete vintage boards, it is hard to beat multibus and STD for available and cheap hardware. Some of the chips on the imm boards are a little pricy

Cool, I have an Intellec 8 machine with a 8080 CPU board. Later I found two 8008 CPU boards for the machine. I'm still searching for the 8008 monitor program for the machine. I have dumped the 8080 ROM years ago and it is on bitsavers. These machines are not always expensive, mine was about 50 Dollars... Just a friendly guy which thought the machine belongs to a hobbyist

Yes, it is often a “right place right time” thing to come across this sort of thing. Fortunately you got the hardware rather than them getting scrapped. While not the original, coming up with a good resident monitor for the intellec 8 hardware would be a good project.

Hi! first of all congratulations for the video. I have been looking for some time for a summary of the brief history of intellec and this video is a gem. Then I wanted to tell you that I am one of those lucky owners of an intellec 8 with an 8080 inside and I wanted to offer you, if you need it, help with the project. I don't have much technical knowledge, but I could send you detailed pictures of the cards if that would help you with the project.

Very nice that you are able to have an Intellec 8 MOD 80, and I hope these videos will be useful to you! Do you have any documentation that isn’t already available online? What cards do you have that you could photograph?

@@ilisagadgets6994 very nice information on your drive. Thank you for sharing ! Can you send me an email so I can get full resolution photos of some items? Thanks again for sharing sbc-85.com/contact-me/ your 8-6X I/O boards are different version than what i have photographs. I could use good front and back photographs of those boards. (are they marked as a 8-60 or 8-61?) i could use front /back of the prom programmer and front panel controller. i do not seem to have good photographs of those.
