[79] Roll Crimping Old, Previously Star Crimped Shot Shell Hulls: Can It Work?

Can you take some old shot shell hulls that were previously star crimped and roll crimp them instead? Would the work, or would there be too much damage from earlier usage? Here's the answer and some tips on what to look out for.

Appreciate this video. I just picked up a classic double with 2.5” chambers, and ammo (especially non toxic) is very difficult to obtain here in the USA. Roll crimping previously fired hulls will help me extend the amount I can shoot quite a bit!

I appreciate the video. I have a one pin roll crimper that i think I'll put on Ebay as it doesn't do the job for me. The four pin die is 50 bucks but I'll get over it. I load mostly slugs and i like to roll crimp and i also don't like to pay for hulls so this looks to be the Avenue for me. I'm subbing and look forward to more content. What are you using to hold the shell onto the plate? I use a hull vise but that seems much simpler

I reload rounds for clays. I can design the round for the amount of desired recoil and other factors. When I take a non-shooter out to the sporting clays course I don't want them sore by the end. Plus at the rates that shells cost here I can save from 0.05 to 0.10 a shell.
