Great to work portable, used to go down the beach every Friday afternoon and stay till about 2am. Had to get there early for a good spot as the fishermen would take them a spread out. 1/4 for 40m is really a good antenna but I used to use phased verticals and had the most fantastic reports especially when you put them out of phase. If you do decide to build them my advise would be don't space them like most people do at a 1/4 spacing. If you do 1/2 wave spacing you go achieve end fire and broad side directions. When switch the difference is impressive. If you need any information let me know I have tons of it from years of experiments. Sorry getting back to you video really love the van never managed to get into the back of my vito so ended up making a shelf. What do you think of the RM amp i have a couple of the hla 300 plus with fans and struggle with them the littlest vswr change and they tripped out. Good collection contacts as always the 7300 doing a grand job. Hope we can work in the near furniture 73 Richard M0UOO

Thanks Richard. I was talking to Richard a couple of weeks back about trying phased verticals for 20m. We have the ideal location at our disposal with the Packing Shed as it has a 360 degree saltwater take off. A couple of year back after finding inspiration in a Radcom article I constructed a Vertical Dipole Array which I plan to properly try out this year from the Packing Shed. See my QRZ page for photos of it, a video is on the way. I’ve checked out your QRZ page, very interesting. I love the floating 4 square😃
