For all of you who read the crawl during this video, I will tell you the story of my nickname, Coco. But I warned you it wasn't very exciting! Here goes. Back in the late 1980s, I worked in recording studios as an engineer and MIDI technician. I was in a session working with the producer/writer of the biggest one-hit-wonder single to ever come out of Minneapolis. He and his co-producer were working on the arrangement for a new song. They were playing synths and drum machines and I was working the Macintosh. They were having a disagreement over how to transition from the chorus to the bridge of the song. I knew my place in the session was as a technician, and not part of the creative team. Still, I piped up with my idea of how best to proceed. The co-producer turned to me and said, "Who do you think you are? The co-co-producer?" We all had a good laugh, and the name stuck. All my musician friends called me Coco for many years, and some still do. There. I told you it was boring. 😀

Thank you Rob for your very thoughtful and candid review of this series of Sansi LED Grow lights. I would like to comment on the service side of Sansi lights through experience. Not so long ago I had a 70W version of these lights similar to the one you review here. For reasons I do not know, one of the LEDs went dark, and another went into a strobe like flashing mode. I established contact with Sansi, provided pictures of the issue at their request, and on very short order a replacement light arrived. I would have to say then that Sansi delivers on a quality product and is prepared to quickly respond should an issue evolve. Thank you for this update. Happy Easter as you may enjoy. Happy Gardening! -Bob...

The CRI rating of these LEDS is astounding! I am in the process of buying the 100 watt version. I will be building a small wooden enclosure for the light fixture using an 80mm axial fan to pull the heat through the fixture and out of my 36"×18"×42" grow cabinet. I have two 4" duct flanges(one inside cab, one outside) and a dust filtration inlet. Inside the cab is covered with highly reflective white poly-paper (panda paper). I also have HID lights and a 250 watt phantom digital ballast in case I needed more power... With my HPS bulbs I get around 33,500 lumens but it is warm. I used to use a 200 cfm inline blower with carbon filter for vegetation smells. I'm curious how the LED will fare.

Honestly, Rob, you're the reason I ended up purchasing these (using your affiliate link of course) and my plants have NEVER been happier. :) My garden doesn't get prolonged sun in any area due to a large tree shading majority of it so I spend a lot of my day moving pots, chasing the sun, but this helped ease that burden. We also receive a lot of extreme heat (40C and up) so putting my plants under these lights instead of the scorching sun definitely saved them. Thanks so much for your in depth and honest review. I'll be using your affiliate link more in the future as my pepper collection is expanding!

I love their lights, been using them since the fall for houseplants, and it helped my plants through the winter. I was surprised you didn't mention the 40w version that they have, it's not geared for plants, but works just as good as 24w or 36w one, well it's better I find than the 24w one. I don't think variegated plants need different lighting than other plants. If you're talking 4-5 full-size pepper plants, none of these lights would cover that much area with just one light. You'll need multiple lights or one that's more powerful.

While I really like the smaller variants as they have much more value than the standard grow lights you find on Amazon, I’m sceptic about the larger ones. The Spider Farmer SF1000 and SF2000 seem to be a better deal, considering the power consumption, dimming feature and infrared LEDs.

If you have a Smartphone you already have a PAR meter. All you need is the App and you can use your phone as a light meter.

When I made this video over 4 years ago there was no smartphone app that accurately measured the entire PAR range. Which ones do that now?
@alchemicalanarchist3 ай бұрын
@@7PotClub The app called Photone will replace a par meter. It’s surprisingly accurate.

Stylish suit! You must have had a Taylor. No way you bought that off the rack.

Was this a sponsored/paid review? I’m just curious because there are much better LED brands out there, and was wondering why you only reviewed one brand and every single Model they had.

It was a great video, I was just curious.

I was provided the lights for free, but I wasn't paid to do the review. I would have to pushback a little, though, because for what I do with lights, the price/performance/energy usage of SANSI lights is quite good. You don't need monster lights to grow hot pepper seedlings. Thanks for watching!

I just saw you had paid promotion to the start of the video. Perfect! You’re the man

So where are all the figures for the real power consumption at the mains outlet? Low cost companies have the nasty habit to pump up their products to make them sell but real power consumption is way lower when measured. If assuming good leds with an average light yield of 100-110 Lumen per electrical watt then a good approximation of light yield can be made. Using that Lux meter in its LUX mode the instant luminary flux can be measured. Dividing that by 74 gives a good approximation of the PAR value. With the figures provided in that video there is not much left of that further away than the classical 12 inch distance lamp plants.

I guess you missed that I used a Kill-A-Watt meter to test the actual power consumption of each light. 😀

Why did you change lights? Because they were free! .. so why not? Hehe
@7PotClub4 жыл бұрын
Free doesn't hurt, but these use a lot less electricity. Plus, I needed more lights because I grew a lot more plants for the 2020 season. All my old lights went to good homes to grow more plants!

Get a hlg 65. Also check out KZbin channel "migro" he made a lux to par conversion with a cheap lux meter.

Nikolai love my hlg 65 v2 4000k. I use it to start my tomato and pepper seedlings. I’ve also had habanero plants flower under it.
