+DeStef z (Soldierz43) yea the first few seasons of the show were the best. The original cast is for sure more preferred. The only person I grew to love that wasn't a part of the original cast was Owen. And it was totally unnecessary for them to kill off Derek. And for them to give Owen a new love interest so soon.

+Μαρια Ιωαννιδου Couldn't he have just taken up the job in Washington though? Then when Ellen was ready to leave she move there with him and the kids? I'm pretty sure Patrick said he wouldn't mind coming back for a guest appearance. But now he can't cause his character is dead. They could've done what they did on ER. He comes back to pick her up, then they leave together. Then come back every now and then to visit their friends and to let the audience know how they are doing. I don't know if that happened I don't think Derek would be looked at as a terrible person

Because Mer doesn't feel as comfortable with Owen as Cristina feels with Derek, Cristina sees Derek as a brother, kind of. That's why she is OK with getting in bed with him and Mer. Mer finally accepts Owen, however she doesn't see him as a brother.

This is one thing I really loved about Derek, he just understood Meredith and Cristina's friendship so well. Better than Burke or Owen ever did. He never got between them and he adjusted accordingly.

I love how Owen often walks with his hands behind his back - flashback to his military days. Just shows what a deep actor KMK is!

And I like the way that he doesn't question anything. Especially with the way that Derek feels about Christina after she saved his life after he was shot and Christina was working on him with a gun to her head. And of course Derek finds the whole thing alittle strange.
