8/27 Sink - Public version

Great video. Couple of more weeks and I’ll finally get out there into the deep mud. However, I actually sink down even deeper. I dink down until I’m practically submerged with the mud coming over the top of my head. That’s where I’m most relaxed. I can stay like that for an hour or more. Again, fantastic video!!!

Well, your motivation was more than enough to get me out there. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a really bad day overall. I ended up breaking my right elbow and shredding the cartilage apart. Worst part was that there was zero warning before it happened. The worst part…I didn’t even get a chance to sink yet!!! So my mud adventures are over with for the rest of the year as I get my arm rebuilt. But there’s still early spring.

What does feel like to be that deep in the mud? It looks like a lot of fun. I sank chest in marsh mud years ago in chest waders end ended up stuck in the mud, I had to dig myself out with my hands.. when walked into the mud I had barely started sinking and i seemed to be sinking even though I was not moving and I kept sinking until I was up to my chest. Looking back on it now it almost seemed like I was in quicksand. Once I was free it neat seeing my waders covered in mud/quicksand from my feet to my chest. It that mud tidal mud or is it quicksand? Have you ever gotten stuck and needed to rescuing. By the looks of it anyone trying to get you free would probably sink like you did and end up stuck too.
