You are correct. Here, we assume that magnetic field started as zero so it will remain zero. It is an assumption we make to solve.

Why does the E field has to be E_o(y,z).exponential factor ? You've never said it and I can't comprehend it based on yur other videos ... Like, how to go from the monochromatic plane wave to this ? it seems super arbitrary.

The idea is that a plane wave has by definition a constant E_0 and B_0 throughout the entire infinite plane. But once we don't have the constraint that E_0 and B_0 are constant, E_0 and B_0 can differ according to their y and z components.

If youre simply gonna write the equations then whats the point of recording this lecture? We have the book for that. If you have recorded a lecture atleast solve a couple of things griffith hasnt. Youre simply writing them as they are

Sorry, I won't fix that. "t" has a straight top bit, and "z" has a curved straight top bit. It's important to cross the "z" so that it doesn't look like a "2".
