Before the Americans brought their bungalows in the Philippines, Filipinos lived in the 2nd floor of the house even in those grand bahay na bato. Floodproof. Very instinctive given our climate. I love the jalousi windows, very reminiscent of those mid century houses that scatter all around the country.

Modern bahay kubo nga. Almost same Floor plan ng bahay ng lola ko before sa province. May silong andun yung Carabao nila at may papag to rest then 2nd floor may upuan na tabla sa balcony then living room pag pasok at rooms. Kaso kitchen nila sa 2nd floor din at stairs at the back of the house.

I love the openess..big closet..I like semi old style house...you can make the slab higher so that when it rains won't come in the very bottom...I would make the roof longer to cove the perimeters so that stepsor balcony doesn't get wet... I think this somewhat the house I am looking for as far as design..I love natural wood on beams..

Good day, the concept of this design is the traditional "bahay kubo" which originated in the Philippines. The ground floor is what we call "silong", and it is literally open just like the traditional design. This kind of house is common in the provinces of the Philippines.. Regarding security, it's better to build this kind of house in a big lot area, and of course with security fences.. The house can be modified based on the clients requirements, we can add steel matting or security grills at the perimeter of the house..
