Ironman is the only “iconic” marvel character , mainly because the first Ironman was an actually well made refreshing blockbuster.

Kevin Feige gets all the credit for Marvel's success. And rightfully so. But Jon Favreau deserves mucho credit as well. He laid the real foundation. He "got" comics in a way most people in the industry don't get, or even want to get. Iron Man was indeed refreshing. That is the perfect word for it. I re-watched it recently. It isn't perfect but it still holds up pretty good. But I would say that the Hulk and Captain America are certainly iconic Marvel characters. And Spider-Man is iconic too. But not sure on his Marvel/Sony status....doe he count?
