I have an honest question. Where I play on live 1/2 the players defend way to loose. Doesn't matter if it's a 3bet pot or not. So let's say I'm the HJ with AQs. It gets raised to 6bb in front of me. I bump it to 28bb (3x last bet plus additional money) and I still get 3 calls. I'm not thrilled about seeing this flop multi way unless I drill it. These types of game I abandon the 3 bet or fold strategy because I hate going multi way in a massive pot and missing completely, then facing a ton of aggression post flop. So would you still 3 bet or fold in these types of games or adopt a calling strategy and why?

there are some mistakes here: - 3x+additional money, which is a PSR, presumes a normal 2-2.5x RFI. cold 4 bets must be a little bit smaller, especially IP, otherwise you're giving too good of a price to shove. - if you hit your TP, you have like a 0.75 PSB behind, so you can shove on almost every board because no one should have AK or KK+

Raise larger pre with a tight range and you will smash the loose callers IN THE LONG RUN. There is no way you wont unless you play WAY worse than them. The more money (as a percentage of stacks) goes in pre, the more raw equity matters. Easy game. Just wait for hands. Boring, but easy.
@wesch6354
@wesch6354 Жыл бұрын
@MelFinehout I used this specific example for a reason. Last week this is almost exactly what happened. I got 2 calls on my 3 bet. Flop was A93 h,c,s. I bet around pot and 1 guy called. Turn was 8h. Again I bet and guy calls. River is 5h. I'm 99% sure my opponent is playing TT+. But at this point there is way more in the pot than whats in my stack. So I just put it all out there. He snap calls. I show my AQ and he showed T4h. Guy literally called my 3 bet with Th4h and chased it all the way down and sucked out on me. And this has been the norm for me over the last 2 months. Another hand I had AA and I 3 bet and got called by 3. Flop was AJ4. I bet 2 call. Turn is 8. I bet 1 call. River is 3. I jam and 1 calls. He showed 52o. I have a ton more examples just like these 2.

LOL - you are in a fantastic game!! Stop crying! 3Bet a linear range and go bigger, it's easy! Here is a thought for you, if villains always overcall why do you ever need to bluff?

People do that loss leader thing with flop bets so hard to play against a player raising 1.5x pot and small 1 out of every three times sparatically every time they have a good hand you just got to play more value but you end up folding to often to there play making it so hard to play against them. It’s like a strange way of bluffing?

James, This is Jesse. I have been followed you for a while. Recently I played Tournaments and Cash Game in Casino. I got all kinds of bad beats. AA beat by AJ, AA beat by JJ, Top set KK beat by Set 99...What should I do? Play less, take a break of my time? It has been like this for a while. I don't know how long it will take me to get out this circle. I am patient, I am not tilt. Just wondering...Thanks!

Chart at 3:41. Why does the 5bb 3-bet defending proportion drop to 51%. Looks like 4bb and 5bb figures are inverted. As bb raises increase the defending range increase should be linear. Don’t see a good reason for a drop at 5bb.

Personally in live games with the erratic nature of opponents and their failure to understand relative hand strength and positional awareness I personally do not advocate for light 4 betting almost ever. I think a superior approach is to go ahead and call their three bets even with your very strong hands, and then either check raise them into oblivion on boards when you actually hit a face card or lead into them on boards that favor your represented range such as low connected boards or even completely ragged boards.

Shit... I think you're best to shove instead of calling 3 bets, or light raising 4... I'm guessing most players here are in the 1-2NL 2-2-3NL, 2-5NL, and 5-10NL... Obviously it all depends on your opponents chip stacks... Its best to shove with AA, KK, QQ because in these games the alarm bells of AK goes off.

How are 3 bet frequencies derived from the table @ 2:42 ? thank you for your work ! *peace sign* curiously; why is that table not linear ? ie- 2.5bb 3bet is 14% and 3bb is 11% again ? thanks ! would love the logic/math there. cheers ! sort of makes sense at the next table; imma shut up and listen. thank you . :)P your background music is as stagnant as my preflop game.. lol, all jokes, you're amazing ! thank you for your work !

I play like 1c/2c, I started playing like a week ago and I invested a total of 3 dollars, I won mostly the first few days but then because of poor bankroll I ended up losing like 5 dollars in a day and now I have less than a dollar left. I'm thinking whether I should continue studying and playing or call it and say this ain't for me

When you 3bet a weak suited ace What you are engaging in is simply a range war. You obviously already have an ace blocker reducing the likelihood that they're holding a big ace. But of course that doesn't mean that they might not have Kings Queens jacks etc. The thing is because you re raised you can easily represent those kinds of hands when your opponent misses and win with a c bet on the flop because initially that is the range of hands you should be having. When your opponent is reduced to simply calling his range is usually going to be more in the middle, smaller pocket pairs looking to hit a set and suited connectors looking to hit a big draw, because he's hoping that you're going to have aces Kings etc to pay him off. But since you don't have those hands, you can actually get into a superior nut advantage since your suited Ace will always be drawing to a nut flush for example. Now your opponent is doomed to getting stacked when he thinks that he's drawing out on you, and instead he's drawing dead.
