At 42:28 Shane shows us one of the things that sets him apart from almost everyone else. Most of us try to minimize the movement of the cueball. Even the very knowledgeable commentators were expecting a soft roll to hold for the lower right corner or the opposite side. Jeremy even points out the danger of going near the 3 and the 2, but Shane didn't "see" the 3 or the 2- he only saw the available gap between them and the much more natural path it offered him to move to the next shot. And to reiterate the lesson, on the following shot of the 14 in the side, most would slow roll that cueball hoping for a straight shot for the 13 in the opposite side. Shane chooses to "stun-draw" the cue for guaranteed position for the 13 in the SAME side where the resulting angle gives him the most options to shoot the 8. Beautiful to watch.

@@devakash2 yep was gonna comment that exactly, that it uploaded in 240p. Got to keep in mind in this youtube world that this is a vegas event and like a boxing fight or anything else they intend to have it as pay per view. Im honestly not really even against it either, think this should be worth paying for. Not because they are pros etc, it's a U.s. OPEN. But because they do a great job at presentation etc. But they have tough competition these days, when things can be streamed for free so easily these days a lot of people see it as absurd to pay for viewing pool. And then you have players complaign there no money in pool etc. I never understood that, you have large open, player put in 400 usd or more to enter, how is there not a large payout?? I think it's the organizers of these major pool organizations, like APA, WPA, etc they are all crooks, mobsters, scam artist, etc, like every other big corp these days, got to steal their profits. Just like they say NBA or MLB can't compete, but we have for now free video streaming, anybody can start a league or what ever and stream, but nobody puts in the work like NBA or MLB. Got to get the shots, angles etc, and that real work. All the youtube streamer dumb asses who stream with their iphone, their selfies, and are millionaires it all just bullshit marketing. Think youtube days are gonna come to an end. Fact is youtube isn't a legitemate business strategy. They are a giant liabliity, they have to serve zilllions of bytes to anyone for free, always, and have absolutely no revenue source that isn't bubbled crazy hype, nazi psychology propaganda marketing.

and i say this, and im responsible for it too, we have computers streaming etc, I too can go to work and make real things that are good, etc, but am too lazy to get off my ass and do it. It's easier then ever, consider the write brothers, what they actually had to do, to make their vision of an aeroplane, reality, and they did it. Not knocking CSI in any way, just rambling about myself.

It's a real spit in face to veterans and people who fought for stuff in this country, but the spoiledness is real, it's real ecnoomics why we do it and procrastinate. so... you know trump had to go to a honeywell factory to get people to make a mask in this country. How many americans sitting on 10-100k capital, could of started up something to make something simple like a paper fiber mask, and profited while also meeting our bizzare covid 2020 needs, the free market capital way. And nobody did it. Let alone TV screens, comptuer chips, cars, solar panels etc. But what CSI and Griffiths is doing, however this works, seem like great thing, they are bringing highest level of pool in my opinion, it's greatly formated etc, it's just awsome, and their not espn, or the nba, or nfl. Also too I really like the brittish world 9 ball masters/invitational, it's great.

SVB's played perfect matches in these u.s. 8 opens, as well as u.s 8 invitational final against Ko, Ko also played perfectly his 8 breaks and runs, but SVB had a dry break so 7 break and runs, and Ko got the extra for the win. Had SVB not broke dry it would of prob come down to the lag.

Some can say they are too good at 8 ball, but that always it is, and Alex Pagulayan had an amazing finish against SVB in final to win one from him. Not all of the really good 9 ballers always play that great in 8 ball either, But SVB has always held a really high level in both.

Dennis Hatch was the reason Jayson Shaw went nuts after closing out the 2017 Mosconi Cup. Many people saw that moment as Shaw acting like a punk, but Hatch was being completely unprofessional the entire tournament, especially that last match when he kept taunting Shaw's mistakes. I will say that Dennis and Shane are pool friends... the middle finger after the match was more to be funny, not because he was mad. Sometimes when you get trucked by a much better player, you laugh it off.

I used to play baseball, hockey, badminton, pool is the most difficult sport to master IMHO. I basically had a pro slapshot in ice hockey in minor years ended up teaching other players how to make them lol if I didn't get cross checked from behind during AAA tryouts when I was in high school I might have gone to OHL which is how you get into NHL, I think few ppl I went to high school are. I quit baseball into high school because my pitching arm was messed up from all the side curve throws I did, I won MVP in a travel tournament and countless trophies from baseball and more ice hockey. I used to play defense and often had more goals than most the players lol

I think the first thing to go under intense stress is small precise motor movements, Pool takes so much precision and more feel than power, no room for error and difficult to replicate a perfect movement that requires touch, power movements are easier to replicate in my opinion compared to controlled feel.
