We were in Andalusia a few days ago. We did the same hike near Grazalema. I'd say we were prepared quite well and I use to go for mountain hiking quite often and I'm practicing rock climbing too. But guess what, my wife started to panic as well. It started while crossing a huge and steep plate. It was so bad that we had to return back and doing 3/4 of the hike again in the opposite direction. I really felt guilty because it was so stressful for her and she couldn't enjoy the hike and the beautiful nature anymore. I really recommend doing the hike in the opposite direction starting from the chaple. The path is more obvious in these passages instead of doing it downhill. Or going up to the rock arc and the same way back. For me it was pure pleasure from a hiking perspective, but it was definitively not easy dealing with someone starting to panic in such exposed terrain. I need to take care about this in the future or watching your reports first 😅

It’s a beautiful, well put together compilation but it is unfortunate that the location is not mentioned so one has to pause it and google each hike to see where it is. That’s too bad it would have been very useful.

Fantastic!! I have done all of these hikes apart from Grazalema (although I have done other hikes there) and Garganta Verde which I can never seem to coordinate my time with available permits. There are many other great hikes I recommend like Rio Borosa, Cazorla and Vereda De La Estrella, Granada. I feel glad that I live here and have these awesome places on my doorstep especially El Torcal where I live in Antequera. 🤗👏🏿🙏🏿❤️

I am from the Western US and grew up near a actual desert and that sure looks like a desert to me, not all deserts are just sand and rock like the Sahara, they have lots of life, a desert is a desert based upon annual rainfall.

Andalusia can be done in spring or fall. In summer, it may be superhot there.

Impression, bitte there are many more exciting regions in Andalusia. So Cabo de Gata, Sierra Nevada, Rio Tinto, Sierra de Cazorla, Segura y las Villas and perhaps most of All el Desierto de Gorafe, a Desert/ Canyon Region more impressive and colorful than rhe Tabernas, also called Geoparque Granada, situated between several high mountain regions and the small cities Guadix. and Baza. You shouldn't miss that!

The best river for hiking is the Borosa River, in Sierra de Cazorla, Segura y las Villas, Jaén. Not only do I say it, National Geographic also says it.
@markusrosehill Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment and suggestion. Of course, this list is my personal selection and I respect anyone's choice regarding their top trails. In this case, I picked Rio Chillar because you actually walk IN the river, not just next to it. But as I wrote, thanks for your comment! :)
@NasioPahComenta Жыл бұрын
@@markusrosehill When you see the 12 kms of Borosa River, you will know that the Chillar River is boring. But if you like to walk IN the river, there, where the Borosa River is, there is also the Guadalquivir River, and you can walk IN the water just as you do with the Chillar River.
