Thank you for subscribing and helping me try to keep these videos uninterrupted by ADs.
Instead of video ADs in the middle (ANNOYING!), I hand select products on Amazon for you to check out, I receive a couple pennies regardless of which product you choose. My pick for the month is: amzn.to/3c2giEo (It's a tall narrow climbing post for cats that connects to the floor and the ceiling!)
During shooting it did rain quite often, and you may also hear some of the work from the nearby property. At least they weren't shooting at the birds this time!
If you hear a peeing sound in the background... it's not what you think! It's this video being made: • 7. Cat TV Birds Bathi...
00:00:00 Intro
00:00:09 Tufted Titmouse and the first Hummingbird
00:07:00 Male Northern Cardinal particularly well lit.
00:45:00 Mockingbird
00:50:50 Carolina Wren

Fair warning! There are several parts that have the nearby water fountain noise and the noisy neighbors which may take away from the Serenity of it all. I opted for a long video of everything that day, instead of deleting anything that wasn't perfect (wind, rain and distant chainsawing even!). I was really just thrilled to have so many new birds showing up!

It's got a lil bit of everything, peanuts and sunflower seed mostly though. I'm still learning what the birds here like, and it seems to change with the season!

Good gods, man, where do you live? It's a veritable ornithologist's DREAM! I would give my left tit (or grey-winged tit) to live in a place with so many birds. In Montreal, downtown, where I live, for all intents and purposes the bird family have all but been obliterated, save for sparrows and crows. I haven't seen a songbird for decades. Good for you capitalizing on your surroundings to portray it in fantastic high-def splendour. I know these videos are not made with an iPhone-they smack of quality-expensive quality. Not to mention good editing skills. (As a video editor I know whereof I speak!) I just recently learned that cats see very differently than we do and that the refresh rate on our screens-even 4K and such-are too slow for a cat, thus they get a lot of flicker and banding, and it's only the contrasty lights and darks that keep their eyes on the screen, plus the sharp, bird-like movements that they recognize from their hunts that keep them tuning in. I, meanwhile, have abandoned my services Ambient video channel of lakes and meadows for this, birds, birds, BIRDS! If this channel did not exist someone would have had to invent it.

"Ornithologist: a person who studies or is an expert on birds." Wow I learned a new word! Speaking of things you've taught me today that I should already know but don't, a cat's eyesight really is different! I will think about that in the future and it explains why they lose interest when there's not a lot of movement or sounds (or contrast) for any period of time. I live on the edge of a wooded 30 acres, it was cleared by loggers about 7 years ago and the brush that's left is ideal to record these birds it seems! Capitalizing might be a bit ambitious, I like to think this channel is in its "currently accepting donations" stage of its life hehehe, but it certainly has been helping me keep my yard and garden looking nice! Just for the record, when I used to glance outside periodically I NEVER saw these birds, but with some serious patience and extended camera batteries, suddenly it seems they are everywhere! I mean except downtown Montreal of course... Thanks for your comments!

@@LensMyth Well, as I type (and as I was reading your reply) I'm looking at your hummingbird feeder with Pika and Kai, my two kitties, lying on the bed and watching with interest-this has now become a routine which we all three do every afternoon recently and they seem to love it. I can't think of a better way to enjoy an afternoon. I've always loved birds but I've never known much about them-I'm ashamed that I can't name a single bird in your videos-even the sparrow-looking birds aren't sparrows, I know that much. But then what are they? Reading about how three billion birds have disappeared from North American landscapes in only the years spanning from 1972 to the present, as well as the insect apocalypse that apparently reduced inset numbers by 75% in many places is so depressing that I can't think about it too much or I feel I'll go mad. I used to live in the Congo (Kinshasa) and the sheer numbers of every form of life known on Earth, that hops, flies, slithers, crawls and scuttles created a natural orchestra of noise every night during the monsoon that was so loud that it kept one awake; I only wish there had been tape recorders back then to preserve it. Sadly now, in my part of the world there is no orchestra, not even a trio; in just my 63 years of life the natural world has receded so much in humans' lives that huge swathes of the world's populations grow up never hearing a frog croak after a rain or even a songbird sing; there is only the sound of urban chaos, and that fact is one of the most chilling things I can imagine. And though I'm at heart an optimist, I have the ominous feeling that by the time my son, who is 20, reaches my age, videos such as yours will have become quaint records of a bygone world and the extinct animals that once populated it . . . But enough of that! A hungry bird with an orange beak is happily munching on some nuts and seeds, momentarily having the whole picnic bench to himself . . .

Wow that's crazy to think the things us humans do create such a mess. Even I had to learn to be more diligent about cleaning and drying out things for my bird feeders so I wouldn't cause them harm while trying to make these videos. Just goes to show there's lots to learn out there and only when you know nothing, could you ever think you know it all. I've never lived anywhere as exotic sounding as Kinshasa but I wish I was filming birds when I lived in British Columbia- constant rain and everything that bit, stung or chased you was there! 57:33 is a House Finch and I can't find it now but there's a Chipping Sparrow that's about that size and more brown and distinctive colors. The orange beaked birds are the Male and Female Northern Cardinals like at 42:34 which are very common around here and a bit aggressive!
