Weekend warrior: You have health insurance. You are allowed to vote in any state you live in. You don’t wearing match shirts with your friends because you’re not 9 anymore. You realize that a mode of transportation is not a personality.

My first bike was a 02 Yamaha r1 back when I was 19 now I’m about to turn 25 and I still have it and a 04 Honda shadow. I want an upgrade though and it was between a Vulcan a boulevard and a vtx but I can’t decide which one I’d like better. Mainly want it for traveling long distances comfortably and without the rpms up there. Got any recommendations?

@@guthixwar44 I've been on a Boulevard, it was very comfortable. If you upgrade the seat on a VTX, it can be a lot of fun and a really smooth ride. Also, Honda makes the best, most reliable engines, something to consider. 👍

Work 40+ a week (Harleys ain't cheap,) family events, etc. I ride everyday to work, and run basic errands on my bike, if it doesn't require a pickup. I wrench on my own bike too, but I can't put down serious miles until my days off. How anyone can afford a Harley, have time for a family, and be committed to an MC is beyond me. I guess if I was single I could swing it, but I guess weekend warrior here too.

I was a commercial pilot, cropduster in Tasmania. I was sacked , bought a 93 Fat and a sidecar, commercial tours.. I was remanded in custody, life crashed lived in a tent. Learnt guitar, played in the street busking. Remanded in maximum prison 7 months. Later had to escape Tasmania, 20 years later I now have 11 Harleys mostly Evo's. Fats and a couple of Heritage. My bikes are here for anybody to ride for a cheap price. Come to Casino, NSW Australia, and find me, Owen Allen.

Weekend Warrior here. Just started riding 2 years ago. I have a 2 year old, a pregnant wife, and a full-time job. For context, I am also a combat vet, which I only bring up because I don't feel the need to prove anything to anyone. I ride to work when it's nice out and on weekends. My first bike was a Suzuki C90 and bought a 2009 Heritage Softail with 3200 miles on it last summer. It's an amazing bike and I will have it for a long time.

I belong to an MC but I agree, the long distance ride is at the top of the cake. I met a 79 year old biker that just got back from Southern California to Nova Scotia. 12 k round trip. This is how he lived. I'm 77 and ride about 4 times a week, but this guy was definitely at another level. He did all this riding on a 79 moto guzi. Owned it since that time.
@langhamp8912
@langhamp8912 6 ай бұрын
I'd put the long distance rider below the "guy who has a motorcycle as his only form of transportation." Rain, sun, snow, sleet; he's out there every day commuting on the weekdays and riding for fun on the weekends. One guy I met in Northern California was one above that. He had only a sportbike, rode it everyday to work, did Sunday morning rides, and frequently raced it (not a trackday but genuinely raced in one of the AFM classes) each year. I can't even think of the consequences if he crashed his bike.

Road King and long-distance rider! I love my comfort when doing the miles! I also travel through the small towns! I like to see the country and stop at historical sites! Riding up and down the two-lane interstate means nothing to me! I feel the reason to ride is to see this great country! So stop and see it!

I fall into the weekend warrior category and I'm not afraid to admit it. I'm not club material whether it's 1% or 99%. Personally, I like being independent but I don't mind riding with friends and having fun. For me it's all about freedom and and being able to destress from everyday life. If people want to think whatever their opinion of me is, I really don't care because it's a free country.

Grocery bags on my handle bars?! MAN I thought I’d was gonna get pulled over so many times for this! 😆 My personal opinion. The biggest biker is the one that lives for the ride. To work, get groceries, long trips, quick trips, random road? Go for it. My buddy needs a ride because his car broke down? Show up with a second helmet on my bike and he’s ready to fight! Man that was funny. This is also my personal opinion with full respect but little experience in the club side. And I’m now a weekend warrior biker.

Many, many years ago, like 34yrs ago when I got out of the army, I started college at UT in Austin. My old ford truck died on me and so my only transportation was a triumph tiger, ~1975. Anyway, I had so little money I owned only one pair of Levi’s. Those were my only pants. I mention the triumph because it required quite a bit of work to keep it going. My knees and butt were worn out and torn from working on that bike. But those were such good times. No money, but life was good! We did always seem to have enough money for beer. Funny how that works.

Ride it pouring rain, to work,to the shops, 10hr ride with the Queen just cause and group too. But I also hammer down alot too. When I test rode my bike I got in trouble for riding to hard. We all are a mixture as at one time or another we may have had to take the bike for what ever reason or needed a car aswell. My first was a 93 shadow 600 cheap bike to learn then suzuki boulevard 800 then to my 2017 roadking classic, next bike will be a 2023 fatboy. I don't really care what bike you ride. Enjoy it love it and be proud to own it you save and pay cash better then a bank owning it.

A bit of a hybrid here. I've always been a long distance guy, having 4 E-to-W (and back) cross-country rides in the US and a couple other countries, but after helping start up an MC, I bleed over into that outlook on life and riding

What would be the name for those of us who would ride everywhere, work, friends house, store. Even if the car was available, there was just always a reason to ride. If a friend invited you somewhere, instead of carpooling you decide to ride. I started out with a scooter and would ride it everywhere, upgraded to Yamaha Vstar cruiser and did the same. Ride EVERYWHERE.

I’ve transitioned from a long distance rider to a weekend warrior now. To me a ride was a minimum of 100 miles but now life changes and I have a family now so my priorities have shifted. One day when my kids are older and I have the freedom to ride far again I will be a long distance rider again. And maybe my kids will be riding their own bikes next to me.

Harley’s aren’t made in America, but own an Indian challenger paid cash that’s modified in a performance/racing bagger way and did my own work yet also ride in the rain/mud/dirt/snow daily commute whenever 32* or higher yet on the weekends likes to disappear on the bike with his wife while going 80 with the cruise control on and stereo with Bluetooth headsets. 🤷🏼‍♂️

For real, where I've been is between me and God. But I can't live that fairing life, I gotta feel it in my chest. Guaranteed you won't catch me not knowing how to handle my liquor or ending up looking like a racoon for something stupid.

My credit is fine. I ride a c50 and/ or a c90 most of the time, but i have several suzukis including a busa. I don't think harley is worth the money, and as it's not u.s. made i have no reason to leak oil all over my garage as an act of loyalty to a company that hates mcs. I know multiple guys that have metric cruisers for reliability. None of them are to broke for buying harleys, maybe just to tight for owning hardlyworks davidsons. I think we've all owned one, and felt ripped off by it. You, yourself have been plenty pissed at harley too. Where's your badges? None of this is meant in a hostile tone. It probably reads that way, but I'm a fan of you and your channel. I disagree that anti-harley sentiment is always because of one's financial situation. I wouldn't trade my c90t for a new harley. You couldn't take my original bike (c50) from me with an army. My next bike is going to be an m109r boss black. F- harley. I'm probably closest to number 6. I love wrenching and customizing them.

I do aspire to have a Harley myself someday. Definitely based on affordability at the moment. But, that said, I love my Vstar 1100. It just feels right to me. I’ll probably keep the Vstar forever and continue to ride it at times even when I get a Harley.

I’ll throw myself into the weekend warrior club. 29 years married, we’ve owned a bike 28 of those years. Owned a BMW GS, Vstar, KLR, KLX, Vstrom, Intruder and current ride is a 03 Roadstar. I’d like a Roadglide someday and I’ll get it sometime in the next couple of years. My bike is my transportation 8-9 months of the year, ride to work, errand running, hiking trips and weekend fun with the wife 2up. Been riding since before I was married, stationed in Hawaii it was the perfect way to enjoy the islands. Before our daughter came along it was nothing to get on the bike and ride the island for a couple hours.
