"8 Eyes" is a video game released for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1988. Developed by Thinking Rabbit and published by Taxan, it is a side-scrolling action platformer that combines elements of adventure and puzzle-solving.
The game is set in a post-apocalyptic world where mankind has experienced a catastrophe, and the Earth is divided into eight different regions, each controlled by a powerful lord. The player takes on the role of Orin, a brave knight accompanied by his falcon Cutrus. Their mission is to retrieve the eight magical jewels known as the "8 Eyes" from each of the regions and defeat the eight lords to restore peace and harmony to the world.
One unique aspect of "8 Eyes" is the cooperative gameplay feature. Another player can control Cutrus, the falcon, simultaneously with the main character. Cutrus can be used to scout ahead, attack enemies, or activate switches, enhancing the overall gameplay experience.
"8 Eyes" received mixed reviews upon release, with praise for its cooperative gameplay, graphics, and music. However, some critics found the game's difficulty to be overly challenging. Despite this, it remains a notable title in the NES library.
