I’m arab from the Arabian peninsula , and I assure you they’re not called “Al Khamsa” in Arabic or anywhere in the Arab world. “Khamsa” means number five. We call it “Arabi Aseel” then there’s 3 main strains of Arabian. 1- K’heilat كحيلات , these are muscular, tall, and dark around the eyes and mouth. Mostly used for shows and normal riding 2- Ebayyat عبيات have longer backs and used for endurance racing. 3- Saqlawi صقلاوي has chiseled facial features and mainly used for shows and beauty contests.

I think these are 'Al Khamsa'; 'The Five'. The Keheilan The Keheilans have deep chests and shorter heads. Standing around 15 hands tall, these Arabian strains are slightly larger in size. They also possess wide jaws and often come in grey and chestnut coat colors. The Abeyan The Abeyans are around 14.2 hands high and come with unique coat colors, often with a greyish undertone and sprayed white. They have relatively high tails and longer backs than the rest of the Arabian strains. The Hadban The Hadban are athletic Arabian strains with healthy and muscular bodies. They have flat faces and come in brown and bay coat colors that are sometimes accompanied by white markings. They stand around 14.3 hands tall. The Seglawi The Seglawi horses are prized for their feminine beauty. They have long faces with chiseled bone structures. These horses are relatively shorter, with around 14.2 hands of height, and come in bay colors. The Hamdani These strains of horses are athletic with large bones and muscular bodies. They are relatively larger in height, i.e., around 15.2 hands. They have flat faces, and the coat colors are typically grey or bay.

I breed Asil horses in the USA. There is some false information in this video. Al Khamsa is an organization in the United states, that keeps track of living Asil (pure) horses in the USA, and their pedigrees, tracing back to the bedouin tribes in the desert. The organization called Al Khamsa, is named after the bedouin story of Al Khamsa. All horses that qualify as "Al Khamsa" in the USA, are Asil horses. Fewer than 5% of all registered "purebred" arabian horses in the united states, qualify as Asil/Al Khamsa. Meaning that they can be traced to their root ancestors, in the desert, with absolutely no admixture of non arabian blood.

It's Egyptian Horse. The first who used these horses were the ancient Egyptians, and the drawings of these horses are on the temples to this day, and among the most famous of these drawings were of Ramesses II with his horses. Also, the bones of these horses have been found in Egypt, dating back to the era of ancient Egypt The name of the Arabian horse was not given to the horse until thousands of years after the Egyptians used it, and the one who gave it this name was not the Arabs, but the Persians. And who saved these breed was also Egypt, because Muhammad Ali Pasha, the ruler of Egypt, collected the rarest breeds and built large farms for them in Egypt. Most of the Arabian horses that exist in the world today are of Egyptian origin, and thanks to Egypt for saving them.

@sporthorses66693 жыл бұрын
The Arabian Horse Association registers purebred horses with bay grey chestnut and roan. Bay, gray and chestnut are the most common; black is less common. The classic roan gene does not appear to exist in Arabians; rather, Arabians registered by breeders as "roan" are usually expressing rabicano or, sometimes, sabino patterns with roan features. All Arabians, no matter their coat color, have black skin, except under white markings. Black skin provided protection from the intense desert sun. and definitely not blue 🤣 sabino and rabino are what your referring to as Roan. Arabian stud books date back to BC when there were no other breeds of horses but the arabian. Like all dogs come from the wolf all horses come from the Arabian. They are considered hot blooded which refers to the conditions they are designed for and evolved to be. Of course the breed evolved from the much smaller creature the 47m years ago propalaeotherium. Horses are related to rhinos as well. 56m years ago they found them in Asia which they are thought to have been dispersed due to pangaea. Different members of this group once in different regions of the world developed into the first equines evolving in several millions of years. Arabians are the original purebreds which all breeds where created. Other breeds were crossed to develop warm blooded toes which are crosses between the Arabian and the cold blooded drafts. Quater horses are the first natural not human designed warmblood of horses. Some lighter draft breeds like fresians where developed by crossing the light hot blooded Arabian to the heavier cold blooded area towns popular draft. The Spanish dispersed alot of the different breeds they stole from slaughtering different tribes and peoples. The evolution of horses was a long complex process over millions 9f years but when the today's horses was finally formed and evolved out of the donkey like creature to become refined and correct it was the Arabian. And from there history took the Arabian and by nature and by human they were bred to become other things. Except for they are still the only real purebred horses and the only horses whose papers say purebred!
@peterlovett58412 жыл бұрын
Your comment about the breed having an abundance of fast twitch muscle fibres is wrong. They have a greater percentage of slow twitch muscle fibres which gives them their endurance strength. Historically, when Arabians were raced against thoroughbreds, they lost. Yes, I know thoroughbreds were developed from 4 Arabian stallions but the result produced a faster horse. There is a lot of Arabian blood in Quarter Horses because initially, the QH stud book was open to thoroughbred stallions and initially, the thoroughbred stud book was open to Arabian stallions.

Thoroughbreds always win in shorter distances. Arabians always win in long distances and endurance.
