I was not taught about feminine hygiene growing up. My mother did not struggle with vaginal or hormonal imbalances so she never had to go the extra mile for herself, therefore what she taught us was extremely minimal. Unfortunately I do struggle with I’m imbalances, but I’m very thankful to learn good vaginal health as a young adult.

Thank you for mentioning the fact that everyone does not know what a person think someone“should” know. It’s the same with mental health issues. Let’s do better!!

@@maame6768 No worries ☺️. Unfortunately, some people mock others for information that they may not know. Example: The proper way to cleanse yourself after using the restroom. Many females are just learning about proper hygiene tips, as an adult, because of how they were raised. It’s not right to judge people for something that they may not know.
@MarshaJay3 жыл бұрын
This was a much needed discussion. This is a major part of self care that people don't mention much. I am teaching my daughter early about self care including proper vaginal care. I made her a little self care basket with products for fully body care and I show her how to properly clean her entire body from head to toe. Glad you touched on this subject Dr. Nina. ❤

Dr. Nina, I am 67 years old and when I was growing up the adult women never talked about the sex area of the body. I had to do all the research myself. I would like to thank you for being honest and open about "Lily" and not holding info back. As for douching it truly is a no no. I haven't done that sin5I was 25 years old and I have had less situations with "Lily". Thanks for the video.

I also grew up in a home where we were very involved with the church, but my mom gave me & my sister very minimal education on certain feminine routines. I had to learn so many things in my adult years, after certain health issues were getting triggered more & more... especially after taking toxic level dosages of a particular medication since I was 14, & certain aspects of my health started falling apart in my early 30's linked to the disruptions going on in my body coming to a head. Yet when it came to feminine routines, I had to start establishing, educating & researching for mySelf from the ground up. All my mom taught us was to wash your face with cleanser & moisturize, but there are so many other things you have to know. We also ate the typical American diet & I've had to make a lot of changes to my diet over the years, in order to support my healing & shifts in other routines. It takes a lot of commitment & effort to find what works for you.

Hello Dr. NINA, my question too you is I have been told my underarms have a very funky smell and I wash several times a day specifically 2 or 3 times , and I where clean clothes. Now my doctor is an male and I have ask him to run the 5Panel test on my system as you have stated but it's been about an year since I have been to him. Furthermore, I decided to go to my female gynecologist and will be currently seeing her very soon. I currently wear Secret deodorant, Mitchum deodrant, Hey Humans by Jada Pickett Smith, and degree deodrant but I would prefer to wear no parabans, and no aluminum deodrants, like naive , can you tell me how I can transition over to Naive? Therefore, I'm afraid this will not hold for my body and I don't won't to be around anyone and they talk about me smelling as I am 50 yrs of age this has destroyed my personal life please help love you?
