you probably make the most progress up the ranks in the final 8-10 weeks, firstly coz lots lose interest, secondly those who have blown their chips early badly struggle when the blanks and doubles come up. To quote Dory "just keep swimming"

Something that has helped my down the years: decide what moves etc you would like to make next gameweek immediately after the last one on Sunday/Monday, then consider what happens before the next deadline, listen to podcasts etc but only deviate from your initial plan if there you are really convinced there is a reason to do so. Always leave your transfer to the deadline or as close to the deadline as you can before making transfers. Finally, listen to Andy, Bb, ffscout etc, look at predicted points on review, hub etc and use these all for suggestions and guidance but ultimately your final decision should be yours and yours alone.

Don't copy anyone. You should play the game yourself. but still you can take input and it can help you a bit along the way. but don't copy anybody.

Every year I have played the game, the initial strategy by a lot of content creators as been "big at the back". The last 2/3 seasons everyone has then spent precious transfers getting rid of the expensive defenders (myself included).

big at the back used to be a great strategy teams cared about defense and clean sheets and the points system in fpl reflected that. Now its all about goals and all the extra minutes leads to so many late goals. Defense as a whole is second thought and if a defender cant get attacking returns and invert and everything other than actually defend they aren't "good." The bonus changes in fpl just makes all this even worse. Defenders are next to worthless now. It's more of a comparison of do I think TAA at 7 will out score the 6.5/7 mids or will Porro at 5.5 outscore the 6.5 mids? Fpl clearly hate defenders.

Totally agreed coverage is nonsense. At the end of the day the amount of points you expect a player to get over the fixtures you want them for is the only thing that drives a good finish. Coverage and ownership are only hedging strategies for people who aren't confident in their decision making

Hey Andy, love your content and have been a supporter since a while now. Quick feedback on the podcast experience - I have tried the first time just now and got annoyed by getting 2 ads. I am a premium Spotify users so I thought it was an issue on their side. I spent 30min trying all sort of things to finally have someone telling me it is on your side. I am aware obviously that you need to make revenue out of this but the experience was really bad ;) Again, this is a comment from a follower and doesn't mean I like the content less! Hey mate, ive got a 97% rated team with Haaland, Salah, Trent and Gabriel, with the idea to either move off of Haaland at game week three, or to move off of him at game week 5 for the Arsenal fixture, and then to rebuild using the banked transfers. Do you want to take a look? I have two different versions, depending if Jao Pedro is fit or not, which is looking more and more likely. I'm stoked to implement this tactic, cant wait!!

Heres a tip for beginners. Make sure you have a few players that everyone else has otherwise you fall behind quick but also have a couple good players that arent highly selected. Make sure you leave room for players you think might great for smaller sides. Eg - smith rowe at fulham. [ im not a veteran but have played for 8+ seasons. Dont copy people have fun and enjoy the GAME

It’s so similar to mine 😂😂 only difference is I have Raya in goals and Stewart up front, and Myko instead of Hall. Everything else is identical. I felt like I didn’t wanna risk missing out on any of the 3 premium defenders cos it’d be tougher to bring them in than take them out 🤷‍♂️

Covering attacking returns is definitely a thing. Leon Bailey can too cover the points that Ollie Watkins scores. When Ollie Watkins scores a goal, he was probably assisted, probably by Bailey.

There is no free hit this season. Pretty sure myster chip will be similair to free hit, but let you pick a 15 from a previous game week. Which is why it wont activate until 2nd part of the season. Your thoughts?

nah, I think it will be a double point chip (because there wont be many DGW's this year), so they will introduce a chip where you get double points for the whole team in a single GW? (similar to the TC chip for one player)

Chelsea going to struggle badly under enzo im a Leicester fan so I know his tactics won’t suit palmer, salah has downed tools cos he wants to go to Saudi isak is too much of a risk because his legs fall off halfway through game so he has to come off nkunku won’t play again due to the Enzo effect so it’s really saka and Gordon

Why does the ratings change? Mine was 97% but now showing 96%. There are no injuries to the selected players.

The predicted points might have changed for some of your players and/or their expected minutes. There will be changes as we get closer to the deadline to reflect new information etc. I wouldn't panic about a minor difference like that any way, anything above 90 you should be pretty happy with, and as long as you're happy that's the main thing.
