I have wanted a pet squirrel for ages. They don't make great pets though, is my understanding. So I've decided that what I need is to locate the genes responsible for the desirable parts of cat behavior (using a litterbox without really needing to be trained, curling up on your lap, liking to be pet, etc) then genetically engineer a squirrel that has those behaviors. Time to learn some molecular biology...
