Hades is finally coming to consoles! The incredible roguelike dungeon crawler is launching on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X and S and Xbox One this week, and as anyone who's played it on PC and Nintendo Switch will tell you, you're in for a treat if you're planning on picking it up. Aoife Wilson actually named #Hades her game of the year in 2020, and is still playing it well into 2021, so here she is to give any newcomers to Hades tips and tricks to help you get started with the console release. Dionysius' trippy shot for your cast and Zeus' to duo it, casts lightening the whole time in the cloud..... Every time I've had that combo, it didn't matter what else I had, nothing could stand up to it.

Add Demeter's Duo to slow 'em down once they step in the cloud... so they get zapped more. Or the Zeus/Artemis Duo to keep zapping even after the cloud vanishes. Or the Artemis/Poseidon Duo to double the clouds and thus the lightning. The 2nd cast itself may only have 30% power, but that doesn't apply to the lightning.

Its surprising how much I have enjoyed each weapon. Although the bow with Flurry shot is my favorite boss killer so far.

You may have gotten this far already, I don't know, but the view bow aspects make it so much better.. My favorite is aspect of Chiron. Making your special arrows all seek an enemy. Get that on top of stacking damage upgrades to your special and you can melt bosses

Nectar is more important than you’ll think. Collecting and gifting nectar is the only way to unlock companions and reach the FINAL ending. Best to start gifting as early as possible!

-Don't invest Darkness in Cthonic Vitality, wait till you get the alternate choice... it heals you whenever you pick up Darkness. And you are gonna need a lot of that anyway. -Give first Nectar to Skelly, you get an upgradeable extra life from his keepsake. VERY useful in the early game. -DON'T touch Charon's money bag until you got a hang of the game. -Fuck the Witches' Circle. Hard. -Always go for Chaos... stack Chaos to break the game. ^^ -Always go for Eurydice, exclamation mark in Asphodel. €dit: Eurydice>Hermes>Chaos>Hammer -Try to get complimentary boons (double lightning strikes for example). -Unless you have unlocked EVERYTHING you can buy, don't sell Ambrosia or Titan Blood. You'd regret it once you know what they unlock.

@@xfatal1241 Thing is, the game wants you to have at least two hammers by the end of it. So even if you skip one, you'll quite likely get another chance. That's why it's so low on my list.

Make sure you sink in the chamber you are in, before you dash and slash your way in. You need to know where the traps are or bombs so you know you can avoid and be aware of them.

If you are going for the platinum or whatever the Xbox equivalent is, prioritize giving nectar to the Olympian Gods in the dungeon over the Gods living in Hades. It will save you a lot of grinding near the end. I already got the platinum before I saw that y'all had this guide and idk if you mention it, but it is the one thing I really wish I knew before I started.

Cross platform saves are a real mess in the industry in general. Everyone wanted cross platform games & cross generation stuff, but being unable to pick up & play from one device to another is far more of a problem.

@@johnjones3228 Then you meet the final boss... This game is really hard. I managed to finally clear it after over a hundred attempts. I am not a great gamer hence why it took me so long. I cleared it again after around 10 more tries. It definitely gets easier until you add heat. Then the cycle begins again. My favourite game I have on my ps5. And it is not event that system intensive. Shows how much writing and design matter.

The best advice I would give someone looking to play this game is to watch Overly Sarcastic Production's vids on the various Greek gods. Especially 'Miscellaneous Myths: Hades & Persephone", 'Miscellaneous Myths: Sisyphus Captures Death', and 'Miscellaneous Myths: Dionysus'. kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5SYnKaQiduNhJo kzbin.info/www/bejne/kKTEd4h7ppqIe9E and kzbin.info/www/bejne/a5PVcqVrZs6jlc0 respectively. These three have the most impact in understanding the lore the game is based on. They are also a lot of fun. I think you need to add another 20 hours or so before you pass that kind of judgment. The game is superb and excellent value. The story is well written and every time you manage to achieve something you find out there is a whole new story/weapons/boon/power stage.
