Oh man that was really interesting! Proudly will subscribe right now to your channel! I invite you to check out mine! Do you know if you can apply all those techniques on electronic cymbals?

Your channel is interesting -- just subscribed. I haven't tried these techniques on electric drums, yet. Have you thought about making a video about hi-hat techniques?

Rhythm Notes thanks for subscribing back my friend! No, I never thought of doing a tutorial or lesson yet, but yeah! You got a good idea!

One interesting thing I have done I s put a drum stick between my hi hats. It makes an industrial and almost mechanical sound when it is closed. Thanks for the great video! I will be sure to subscribe!

Phil was great! … speaking of Motörhead, I’m a huge fan of Mikkey Dee.

excellent shout out to Stan Lynch.

Stan's energy was the best. I love Steve Ferrone, but he's not the best Tom Petty drummer. Stan all the way!

Hey, I just came across your video, really well done, well spoken, great job. I do have a question though...I am by no means a drummer, or even a musician for that matter, I just dabble on the 3 core rock instruments for fun, and I'm not really satisfied with my hi-hats. I'm wondering what your thoughts were. I have the zildjian A city 3 pack, with 12" hi-hat. Is it the smaller size that's not giving me the familiar sound I'm looking for, or is it a matter of technique or setup?...or 4th option im just really bad and don't know how to play them. 😅

It could be a combination of the small cymbals and technique. Are you recording and are not happy with the sound? Or are you just not happy with the sound while you play?

Wouldn't you say that the hihat swing(from side to side), is also a way of changing the sound?
@RhythmNotes2 жыл бұрын
I would say so. And it adds a different feel to the rhythm that’s certainly important to the overall sound.

Great video, I loved it. I found the splash-chic to be particularly interesting. It never really occurred to me WHY sometimes the high hat made that splash sound just from using your foot, and other times just the chic sound alone. It looks like you're using your foot towards the top of the pedal for a splash and towards the bottom of the pedal for a tight chic. Does that have anything to do with it?

I think the technique as using my toes to get the chick sound and my whole foot with the emphasis on the heel for the splash sound.
