I opened up 2 windows of KZbin to compare how different the take off distances of Charles Austin 1.26 and Stefan Holm 2:31 are: Both go about 7' 10", but Austin takes off from about 3 feet and a few inches from the pit while Stefan Holm (called Stefan Christian here) takes off an astonishing 6 feet away.

Its because of the two main types of ways people jump. You have power jumpers and Speed jumpers. Now, both of these jumpers gain alot of speed to jump that height, but the main difference is that power jumpers tend to load their jumping leg up a bit more. A good example of this is Charles Austin and Javier Sotomayer, who both seem to drag their right feet on the ground and go more upright. You'll also see this in a lot of basketball players. On the other hand, speed jumpers such as Stefan and Mutaz Barshim, gain their height by essentially butt-kicking their non-jumping leg as a third limb to gain momentum along with their arms. This allows them (and other athletes such as long jumpers) to takeoff with so much more speed, because they aren't redirecting their momentum as much as the power jumpers. This paragraph is quite long lol, but a great example of the difference between the two in the same timeframe is Eric Gaines Viral March Madness block.

Your list Is wrong for the records and the heights are wrong. Box jump belongs to Chris , he also has highest standing vertical tied with the guy you shown. Highest jumper is a street performer , I don't know his name but he clearly has the most bounce in the world. Good list though just a few inaccuracies.

his head was at around 9foot 11-9 inches and he is 6foot1 So he had about a 43 inch vert at that moment and ima guess that everyone in this vid has 48+ inch vert and 2 people with a 50 inch Isiah rivera and the guy atfer him. so no ronaldo would not fit in this list
