Doesn't really fit that well because on the Cloverfield DVD that came out in 2008, the writers and director said there's one monster and that it's a terrified baby looking for its mother. A fully grown one wasn't seen until The Cloverfield Paradox's ending.

The actual twist to The Mist is that the crazy zealot woman was right all along. The moment David shot his son the mist cleared. What he actually did, albeit unwittingly, is fulfill the virgin sacrifice the loony lady said was required earlier in the movie.

@@ericworley4361 yea but I think that doesn't add up. As, as soon as David leaves the car, the army is there. If we don't accept supernatural causes but realy just aliens, that would be near impossible to them to suddenly appear and having fought off the monsters. I think the ending without any "sacriligious" sacrifice is so much deeper so more heart breaking than the old saved by a virgin sacrifice trope. I however agree that the underline motive is undeniable, I just don't think it is a "real" plausible explenation wo what expired but symbolism.

The Thing theory is wrong. Macready tested his blood after he drank from the bottle. The bottle was never contaminated. Plus theres a series of comics that are centered around Macready hunting Childs (the black guy who survived to the end) because Childs was the last infected. In the last scene of John Carpenters 1982 The Thing you see Macready hand a bottle of whiskey to Childs that Childs drinks from. Thats how Macready knew Childs was one of the creatures. The bottle was gasoline because the bottle was originally a molotov coctail.

Also, John Carpenter is a legend. You can tell when people in the movie become infected because there is a gleam in the eye of the humans and when the infected are shown you do not see that gleam. Childs didn't have it at the end while Macready still did.

I think you are wrong about Evil dead 2, BUT that theory does work for "The World's End" (2013) When Gary King is knocked out in the public bathroom, everything changes and though the world is coming to an end, for Gary everything just gets better and better, until finally he is on his quest, with his rejuvenated mates he is totally free. The is because everything after being knocked down in the bathroom takes place only in escaped madman Gary's own head. His meds have worn off and he has reverted in to his fantasy dream world.

The VVitch hallucination hypothesis doesn't work. The witch is shown, without a POV character present, taking Samuel to her lair and butchering him for a ritual, firmly establishing that the witch was not just imagined.

RE: Friday the 13th theory... I think Jason Goes to Hell gives some validity as it shows a means of it occurring and definitely gives a deeper meaning to the typical ending jump scare of the films in the series.

All of these are mostly NOT accurate. We were supposed to see the witch in Project, but the cameraman missed the shot. Someone already pointed out why The Mist theory isn't valid. Jason is always Jason, albeit through spirit transfer, as shown in later films. The Thing has many interpretations, but I can't quite swallow this one. But... The theory about The VVitch, is indeed true, sort of. Eggers said he wanted it to be able to be possible both ways. That's why he showed the fungus on the crops. People that want the supernatural can have it, and those that don't can have it their way, as well. Which is really an amazing commentary about the world all on its own. Brilliant writer/director. The Cloverfield theory is correct. The "parent monster" is so big it can fit an entire helicopter in its mouth. Right at the end of the movie which takes place in the park, the "baby monster" is so small, it can barely fit the camera man in its mouth. Now, I'm no rocket scientist or anything like that, but I'm pretty sure a helicopter is wayyyyy bigger then one guy. Therefore, two Cloverfield monsters.

The sacrifice theory for The Mist is crap, the military was burning and following the creatures after they came out of the portal that they opened do to an experiment. You dont see how big the mist actually was, so there really isnt a way to see the end of the mist cause that wasnt the main focus of the movie, there wasnt any religious undertone, god didnt stop the mist, it was the military burning and following the creatures and that there was actually an end point to the mist. The theory of The Blair Witch Project makes a ton of sense, not really sure about The Thing theory.

Some of these are plausible and could work, some of them are not. One of the ones that doesn't work is The Thing. There's no way MacReady is another Thing trying to kill the other one. There are hints and proof shown throughout the movie that MacReady is very much still a human being. The fact that, for this theory to make any kind of sense, one Thing has to turn against the other to throw suspicion off itself is already such a reach that it just feels like a desperate attempt to make it work. It is not completely implausible, but it is highly improbable and there is no way that that was what the movie was suggesting or its creators originally intended for it to be. Sorry, but that theory is just plain ridiculous. There's too much proof that MacReady is still human and it just doesn't hold up. Shakey AF and easily dismissed. At least some of the others were interesting.

The Witch - who knows as people blamed witch craft for all that illed them as science and medicine was not around and not in a puritan colony so rot to other suggestions are plausible.
