Here's eight more connections between the worlds of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (shared with Breath of the Wild) and Zelda: Twilight Princess.
The Zonai and Twili symbolisms seem to match (Dragons, spiral patterns, Sheikah Eye), the Zonai knew Ganondorf's past and events narrated in Twilight Princess, a familiar monument in Lurelin village and more!

Not once in all my time had I really stopped to pay attention to Midna's fused shadow and notice the serpents breathing fire. If the Zonai were actually pre-twili... how did it not occur to me one of their villages is literally cloaked in shadow?

I have been watching videos of many Zelda youtubers and none of them pointed out Ganondorfs execution scene being recreated by the pillars in the faron region. I never realised it. I really admire your hard work and your analysis. Please keep going!

If the Zonai were the Twili, they couldn't be aware of Ganondorf's execution, because they were banished at the time. Your observations made on the possible replica of Ganondorf's execution site are excellent, but they imply something else than the Twili. I guess Ganondorf could have told them of the events and the Twili returned to Hyrule some time after that, but it's extremely unlikely, considering that he doesn't really need to explain his backstory to anyone, not even Zant. Not to mention that Ganondorf and Zant cursed them all and the Twili don't really have a motive to replicate the execution site. It seems very far-fetched. There might be a slight connection between the two races, but they most likely aren't the same.

@O S, to me it doesn’t seem impossible to think that the Twili, at least maybe the more powerful magic users in the royal family, could not have some way of viewing what was going on in Hyrule, even though all they could really do was observe.

@@keithtorgersen9664 Perhaps, assuming Zant didn't get rid of them. But even if they could, it wouldn't be of any help for them to actually return to Hyrule. Not to mention that Midna would have tried to prevent it, considering that she had already broken the mirror. And replicating Ganondorf's execution and knowing of it still seems very weird, The one other thing that seems a bit odd is the Mirror of Twilight. We clearly see that it was shattered completely in Twilight Princess, so how come there are still pieces left during the time of BoTW that aren't even on Arbiter's Grounds' ruins? It implies that there is a second mirror. However, it's much, much more likely that the one in BoTW isn't actually another mirror, even though the shape is similar (which might be common knowledge...? I have no idea). There are differences in size, design and also effect when put back together. Not to mention that an earthquake was strong enough to destroy it, according to the NPC who examines the stone in the game. My point is that the video digs too deep with symbolism to the point of unrealistic connections, but the observations made on visible details are honestly impressive.

It's possible that Midna is the reason that the Twili know the story since she was there when the sages were talking about the failed execution and very likely would have told her people the story of the brave hero, Link, that she journeyed with to save both realms (her people were likely very interested in knowing what transpired, about the world of light and about Link after everything he did to help them break free of Zant's rule.) As for the Mirror point you mention, I believe the answer to that is the broken stone slab that looks like the mirror is nothing more than another depiction of events that have transpired and the Twili left through some other means (maybe they were even allowed back into the realm of light after Midna led her people down a new path and thus the depictions are made to help them to never forget the past.)

Temporal foresight and premonition aren’t new things to the Zelda franchise, and especially not to the Sheikah and the Twili. The blue eyed beast prophecy is proof enough that at some point in time, the interlopers/Twili had access to visions of the future

It could be very likely the interlopers weren't any particular race or clan, but a union of different race's magic wielders. Maybe like they were the lore keepers and high priests, then sought the highest power . Maybe them being sealed away would have caused cross breeding a d as a result, the Twili.

I think that as well. Saying they're all Sheikah would make it boring. Besides, the Twilight Realm is basically the collection of prisoners and those Interlopers. So it's a collective. Ikana also had similar symbols with dragons and spirals. Stone Tower Temple, too, along with Majora's face everywhere.

2:28 that not the Spiral of the Twilight realm, that's the Kokiri Symbol and in the Newest TOTK trial as of 10/27/2022 shows possibly Hylia floating of the Ground in the same position when Girahim Removes Zelda's soul from her body (Zelda was floating, not Girahim), and the Master sword broke in the First TOTK trial meaning That's not Ganondorf, That's Demise, him and Girahim where (Slowly) were being Vaporized in the Master Sword so Demise has made his Return and Where Ganon got the Sword Wound in TP, the Malice spilling out of Demises Chest are in the Exact same Location

Given how Twilight Princess takes place 100 years after the split (yeah, I know) that would be a very brief window for the Twili to be conceived. Part of the reason why the Zonai confuse me so much is how recent a development they are, as we never heard of them in any other game. Either they somehow came to power and fell without being noticed by Hyrule, which should be even more ancient by that point, or they were written into this story but have always been a part of this world's history. We have heard plenty of stories about dark ritualistic magic cults in the past.

@@Mecceldorf or there could be a timeline from skyward sword split that allows many of the "mulititude of oot splits" to have been a certain order of events leading to breath of the wild allowing for a difference in landmass and growth of populations and race.

I was saying that too so my theory is everything will go back to Faron just like how skyward link started at Faron,Zelda oot started at Faron/kokiri forest, tp link started at the farm at Faron and botw started at the great plateau but the land had switch places but maybe in totk they go back to their original places and link will either get the last tear or something else will take place.

There's a place in the dark place (can't remember the name, Typhlo ruins?) semi-close to the shrine that depicts 3 dragons. Two are facing the same way, to the right diagonally, but the middle one is violently turned to the left with a spear in it's head. Something to look into

I think the arm holding down Ganon is Midnas arm. And the depiction of the “owl” being with ears is Midna too. Idk 🤷🏻‍♀️

there is one thing i have to think about: if the zonai were the twili (which would make sense because they vanished like the interlopers/Twili are described), then it would make no sense that an execution happened during their age. I assume the zonai already existed before skyward sword since we see symbols of their eye in temples in skyward sword. Because only in skyward sword the curse was spoken that events should repeat. the only way it would make sense is if the zelda timeline indeed is an entire loop. And that the execution scene of the zonai indeed either refers to the one in twillight princess (because they passed down the story)or that this exact same event happened during their time because of the curse. which means the era in which the zonai lived was not the beginning of the timeline, because the curse must have already existed for this event to happen. Thus it sets the game at the end of the timeline, but its still the beginning because of the curse. the snake which eats its on tail.

thinking about that one stone slab that looks like the mirror of Twilight, while the general debate is whether it is or isn't the actual mirror, I think it really is more along the lines of being another depiction of the past made by the Zonai (like the ruins you point out that seem to depict the failed execution 🤔)

My theory was exactly this. Zonai made majoras mask, were banished into the twilight for it and becoming the twili. Few hidden zonai remained, becoming the sheikah.

it seems to me that this game will explore the backstory of the twili tribe, shedding light on who the interlopers were before the events of twilight princess despite botw and totk taking place long after twilight princess. the similarities between the zonai culture and twili cultures are uncanny. it’s interesting to potentially see a missing pieces of the story years after tp was released, since the interlopers seem to be a pretty big piece of the Zelda timeline as a whole. i doubt we will see gameplay similar to tp (like wolf link and areas covered in twilight), but i suspect we will be seeing zonai aspects before they evolved into the twili culture. also, looking at early concept art of midna reminds me of the barbarian armor that was canonically created by the zonai. similar primitive style. maybe that was planned in advance?

Speaking of Skyward Sword, an interesting plot hole is the addition of the tear in the Sheikah symbol. The Royal family wasn't established yet, so the Sheikah hadn't yet been able to have been wronged by them.

I highly doubt the Zonai are former Shiekah. Both the Shiekah and Yiga are based on Japanese and the Zonai (appear) to be to be based on Mayan/Aztec.

I don't think the Interlopers/Twili were Sheikah because that basically is saying any other tribe can't be as adept at magic or even better at it than the Sheikah. Interlopers were all banished and yet the Sheikah are still around. Just seems like a shaky connection. The people of Ikana also had similar art and were also adept at magic. Could they all be connected by teaching each other secrets? Sure. Are they all the same race or tribe? Personally... I don't think so.

I don't think this particularly leads to anything. Nintendo has made it clear that they no longer care about the Timelines, despite how much effort they poured into legitimizing them in both the Historia and Skyward Sword. All this amounts to is some spirals and some dragons; art aspects that fit in hundreds of games.

When and where was that statement officially made? Perhaps they changed their mind about it during development. Clearly the zonai tribe from botw is related to tears of the kingdom in some way, especially since in the first teaser back in 2019 showed off ruins of this tribe. I mean, if this was a one off case where one thing looked like something else, that would be different. But this is multiple different occurrences of this happening across TP and BotW. and if none of this leads to anything, that’s just bad game art design, nothing more to it

I hate how Twilight Princess and Skyward Swords injected so much lore into the franchise just for Breath of the Wild to do nothing with it. Instead they chose to told one of the most boring stories, this is why I don't have hope for Tears of the Kingdom, I don't see Nintendo taking risk in the narrative.
