Hi, coach! I went through the coding and billing program at Remington college, Shreveport, LA. I earned my diploma (+4.0) in '09. I know... I'm here as a late effect. I had a horrible time finding employment after graduation despite the job placement program my school had in place, my transcripts, being a CPC-A, and, what I thought was, a very good interview process. Since then I have had a few (very few) part time medical office jobs, waited tables, but mostly, I have been a stay at home mom. I just received my new set of coding books... updated for the icd 10 series... yay!!!! and am here for a refresher. My question is, do you have any advice for someone who has a good grasp of coding in theory, but not so much in practice, for finding employment. Either at an office or from home. Where would you suggest I look once I get recertified. This is something I have passion for. I am eager not only to find work, but also, to further my education. Thank you so much, stacy
@codemastercoach6636

Stacy Stroker, try Googling "Remote Coding Jobs". Would you believe I did that when I decided to work from home and I found a job? Also, I did not have to leave my home at all for the interview process. I did have to take an online test to prove my proficiency, but the interviews (2), were by phone and I still work that job. I love it!

Question: why place a code in the sub category when there is a more detailed sub sub category code? If we have to keep moving down why even put a category code unless it's the ending result? This just confuses me a little. Maybe I'm just tired and it'll hit me tomorrow morning lol. Just thought I'd ask =) still super glad I found you.
@codemastercoach6636
@codemastercoach6636 5 жыл бұрын
Because the sub sub category gives greater specificity. Some codes previously stopped at the subcategory but with extension of the code, and better diagnoses, we can now code with greater specificity by the sub sub category.

I have a few questions, could a delay in pain (Sequela) be as little as a week? I'm thinking if a person was in an automobile accident. A pinched nerve or muscle pain may be felt at a later time. Would an occluded AVF be a complication, it's not using an actual graft but is a procedure done for dialysis just the same. Would a stent/bypass be complications even if its a reoccurring stenosis, or perhaps scar tissue?
