Thanks for watching and trying out the high-performance warmup routine! Try it out and tell me what you think... what's your favorite exercise? Do you have any of your own that I should include in my warmup???

I love this warm up but wish you had recorded the full warmup showing all the reps on both sides. It's disappointing to have to stop the video to do the extra reps/side and then restart it. multiple times Sorta defeats the idea of having a training warmup. Really liked the music and no talking!

Our teams in New York adopted this warmup routine for our daily practices. I especially appreciate all of the cross-body movement. If I had to pick favorites, the multi-directional hip opening lungs, the airplane walk, the marching knee hugs, and the deep lateral lunges with reach. Also the chest sweeps and hip diagonals. So, you know, basically half of the warmup. :^)

@Katherine McKay That's a great point, Katherine! After I had finished putting the video together I realized my mistake in not including all the reps. My more recent PT/rehab specific videos are including every rep, and when I put together a new version of this warmup, I'll be sure to make it easier to follow and without any need for a pause. Thank you for sharing! 😎💪🚣♂️

@Rebecca Clark Thanks for sharing, Rebecca! The rotational movements are where it's at, whether you're doing a pre-rowing warmup or some land-based cross-training. Keep up the great work!

Just bought a rower with my stimulus money. I like this warm up and how it starts grounded then gradually moves to standing. Well done!

Great warm up! I love all the rotational moves...probably an area I've previously ignored. Thanks!

You're welcome! The rotational aspect of rowing (and many other day-to-day exercises and activities) is often completely forgotten. Keep up the great work.

Nice routine. I found this linked on Rowing Stronger's site on their warmup article, along with another warmup video. I'm seriuosly out of shape, and getting back into erging and eventually some weight lifting. This video was great, but it wore me out trying these out. Looking forward to getting this done regularly along with some daily activity on the erg and the bar. Thanks!

Awesome, thank you! If it's too much right out of the gate, not to worry. Break it up into smaller bite-sized chunks and slowly get used to the motions over a period of a few weeks. Welcome back to the erg! (aka my happy place) 😎

Thanks for watching, Tony. I hope you find it valuable. And you're right! Warmups only get more and more essential (and the cooldowns too).

This is great! Can you do sth similar for cool down? Or what is your suggestion for rowers?
@Fiziologix3 жыл бұрын
@Max Flinter I'll be posting a new rowing specific cooldown video this week. In the meantime, you can certainly do this warmup progression for your cooldown as well. If you feel there are any particular tight or sore spots, pick a few that really speak to you. Big targets after a rowing workout are to loosen up the hips and the mid back into extension, and include some rotations as well.
