My hair grows the same way now. Its always been thicker on the right but longer on the left but use to grow fast and thick on top. A few years ago I noticed the top just wont grow (well GROWS SUPER SLOW). I cut every area numerous times for no reason other than to accommodate the top but it just does its own thing. Now I want a tapered cut so I'll be cutting everything but the top weekly.. It is what it is and I've learned to deal with it considering all my hair is now healthy. Thanks for sharing so I don't feel so alone. Also I know its not a good decision but I will also be coloring my hair knowing the top already has issues but hey its hair and it will grow back 🤷🏽♀️

Most people's hair grows that way because of the blood supply and how it travels in our heads. We have more blood supply in the back of our heads so the hair is feds the nutrients it needs to grow more than the top of our heads. It is normal for the hair to grow slower in the top than in the back because of that. Your hair is beautiful. I started my hair growth journey over also in November of last year because I had emergency brain surgery and my hair is growing like your hair.

If you don’t want biotin to break you out take it with same amount of - if not more - vitamin b5 ie pantothenic acid. Preferably with b complex vitamins or multivitamin that contains B5. I’ve been taking biotin for months now and never experienced break outs except one time I stopped taking the multivitamin that had b5 bruhh I broke out bad. I had acne on my neck which I never experienced before

Thank you for this, I just decided to go natural after getting much into natural hair. I have naturally thick hair and I always thought my 4c hair was unmanageable but turns out I have been combing it when it’s dry. My last relaxer was in December and now my hair is exactly like your hair length, I’m soo excited because I can follow your journey. I plan on cutting my relaxed ends very soon, maybe in two weeks.

I stumbled across your channel and really enjoyed it. You as re speaking truth! Plus you described my hair growth pattern the back grows thicker and longer than the top. The right side of my head grows slower than the left side. And the left side is thicker. I attribute that to heredity and also the crown of my hair grows slow because I damaged it long ago using a neutralizer instead of moisturizer when Gheri curls were popular LOL! I agree there's lots of influencers out there and you just have to sort it all out on your own. There are no directions on how to do all this stuff you just have to take bits and pieces and start from there. Good luck on your hair journey.

I just found a curly stylist and I asked her my hair type and she told me to forget that mess because she hates following that and I should forget it too. She told me it creates a lot of insecurity and I realized that has created a lot of hair self consciousness for me. With her help she just said I have tight coils and that’s it. Also, I found I have normal porosity hair and not high porosity which made me realize hair typing and porosity typing is hell on wheels to the natural hair community.
