I love your journey, I have box braids in right now so that my hair grows out a little before I start my locs. I'm not sure if I'll be recording my journey but I'm so excited about starting them. Shalom my sister!

I hear you! My locs are at a similar length. I definitely would not mind getting to shoulder length soon, but the short hair look is cool too and it looks great on you! Ive noticed that some people don't really see growth until after the first year in the journey. But you're really close to a year...Congratulations on 8months!

I don't think I'm ready to retwist for myself lol you did great. Your locs have changed a lot (in a good way of course). I clearly remember when you started, can't believe it's been 8 months... One year will be upon you soon...

Looking great! The length will appear almost overnight. By 12 months you should see a significant difference.

girl I'm so glad you decided to keep making videos. I have been following you since the beginning, cz your locaversary is close to mine. I just hit 9 months on the 21, and I was having the SAME issues as you. I really did think my hair would be longer by now! but I had to think about it, even though my hair seems to be locked it really is still maturing, so I think as the hair locks up on itself it is hard to see growth. I think once our hair is good and locked we will start to be able to see it. keep it up girl! 😉

So glad u watch n follow my journey, looking back I've came a long ways but like you said...it takes a while to fully be locked! Our hair is still considered to be baby locs and maturing so I'll have to continue the journey to see when length decides it wants to be my friend lol

Hey Cheah My 8 month is the 30th. Crazy b/c this month I keep looking at my length. Wishing shoulder length get here quick. But for me to STOP worrying/over thinking it. I've told myself January(1 yr anniversary) could possibly get me there. So I'm not thinking abt my hair until January, lol. Great job on retwist. Being in Egypt too cheap for me to do myself, especially when folk here come to your home and do it. Happy to see so far you've decided to still grace us with your presence. Last vid u were thinking of "signing" off.

Thank you! I would say this has to be my 3rd or 4th time doing my whole head by myself, so I I guess practice makes a difference ! And I used eco styling gel (olive oil kind) and I though I was going to hate it but it worked wonderfully for my hair. The way it dried is what really made a difference in holding my roots in place..but some say it's too drying but I just used a little at the root and I was good to go. I'll update if my opinion changes abt it tho

i had to watch this over hahaha ..... You said it right uniform locs don't have personality unless people put styles to it . I love mine semi freeform. but for now I am doing my roots so it can grow downwards the way I want them instead of standing afro loc style and that's not what I want my hair to do. I want length. so I will not be twisting after a few more months . I am thinking after my first year. Your hair looks amazing.

Patience, it'll come :) ...it's funny because I remember being at this stage and feeling the same way and now that I'm 14 months in and I'm at shoulder length, I now pray for arm pit length or bra strap length ... Low key I really just want it to be long enough to put in a high bun lol . So my point is the struggle is never ending, there will always be a new length to obtain. On top of that I'm in the process of combining so I definitely have to remind myself to have patience and to trust the process. Locs are progressing nicely btw💯

I just used a little eco styling gel (green kind)on my roots as I twisted...at the time it didn't feel like it was useful but after it dried and I took the clips out..the hold was amazing.
