Thank you so much. You are my favourite KZbinr in watches, because you have actual information on your videos. Must take you a lot of time to gather all this information. Thank you!

If I may add, “fifty watches that changed the world” is also a must have- if somebody can get one.

Yes indeed - I’ve got the e-book version of that rather than hard copy . It’s good

Our watches and clocks are more than tools they are a metaphor, and like language they expand to new understandings like measuring for naval navigation, Relativity, quantum mechanics, and expanding to what is yet unknown. :)

Great selection, I would add one more if I may. The wristwatch handbook by Ryan Schmidt. It is a comprehensive guide with over 90 brands from a mechanical working perspective, breaking down complications and fine movements. It also comes with great editing and quality photos. Of course it is pricy, but I have managed to snag one at a discount, and it was the 2020 (third) reprint

Thank you for your listing of books in your library; I have the first two listed in mine. Not only has a study of time led to to our understanding of the Earth's spinning and not the sun. An inquiry too of time led to quantum mechanics, and without it and its working manifestation our computers and smartphones could not view your excellent presentations. Thank you and best best wishes to your family and its newest member. :)

I’m reading your book suggestion over the weekend! Thanks for the inspiration to do the vid. Sounds like the quantum mechanics link is a future video!

I am of a vintage where I remember the first transistor portable radio; today the latest iphone has 15 billion transistors in a similar sized case but with many more uses. None of this could not be possible without the use and understanding of quantum mechanics. :)

Hello. Does the first book contain info how Harrison was setting time precisely on his timekeeper before swimming off ? I'm curious how precise time setting/measuring was achieved as it was base for whole project. All best

Can’t remember to be honest. I was more taken in by the story of it all and the astronomer vs watchmaker aspects.

😆 I admit I have “a man and his watch”.. it sits proudly near my watch winders and complete the mood of every photo of my collection 😉. Spot on mate👌🏻😊. By the way I read it and it doesn’t have the best or interesting writing. Photos are great 👍🏻

Great video, the last two books are definitely something I'd be interested in having a read through. I guess they are quite expensive to buy. When I've finished reading my two recent purchases Bob Mortimer "And Away" and Tom Courtenay "Dear Tom" I'll think about getting one of your suggestions. Ps. If you're left handed like me we're only 10% of the population. I can't decide which wrist to wear my watch on. Left seems more natural but means it's more likely to damage 🤔🙂
