Why are houses in Hawaii so much more expensive than here in Texas? And the houses in Hawaii are not as well made as those built in Texas.. I lived in Nanakuli for 35 years at 87-257 Maua St. And in 2000my wife and I bought the house at that address for$185,000. Now houses in that area are as high as $600, 000. And the houses have not changed in the way they were built in that area, yet you people are now Jacking up the prices so high nobody can afford an older house from the area where I lived.
