I really like the "Jumping Jacks" pattern especially with the aqua #2 as the background❣️ This is a great book for beginners. Thanks for sharing the lap and twin size quilts for comparison. I am also drawn to the "Tempo" pattern. I definitely see the dancing movement, Donna. "Tufted" is also the perfect name for your pattern, Fran. What a gorgeous quilt with the beautiful bright fabrics❣️ I'm looking forward to seeing this tutorial.

The people in Mitchell County NC are in need of warm quilts or sleeping bags because of the grid still being down. Churches are distributing things to the people. sometimes they have to use mules to get to those people they are so far back in the Mountains. They lost EVERYTHING in the Hurricane.

I do so wish that all the love and hugs we are sending from Australia to all those poor people was enough to make a real difference. I hope that everyone, especially those who live nearby and have been spared, will do their upmost to help and to contribute where they can. I always think that in these dark times the best in people come to the fore. America is a nation of quilters, it’s time to look through quilts you have made and still have on hand, or use some of your stash to run up a 3yd quilt (or 2!) and know that your quilts will be appreciated, loved and cherished for years to come. If you have a good relationship with your local quilt store, maybe you could approach them for fabrics they may be willing to donate? And a long-arm quilter who could also contribute some time towards this cause? If that’s not possible, just go back to the good old days and tie them! Think of the children as well, they have lost everything too and need something to hug at night safe in the knowledge that their gift from you cannot be taken away from them as everything else has been. 😘😘😘
