I am 39 year old welder/fabricator, have welded for 17 years now and I fabricate mostly big fish stories due to the fact that I am now trying the peaceful Art of fly fishing and have never cursed so much in my life heh hehe. I just wANTED to get on here and tell you that I am in fact making my own welder and had to bump it to 250 vac to get the draw I need to weld at a safe level, but I am 100percent self taught because of informative videos like the ones I have watched of yours. You are very passionate and dedicated to your craft sir, you can hear it in your teachings because they are the only ones worth watching because you know every smart and safest route will be taken and I want to be where you are teaching welding class because I feel that passionate about my trade and for that I thank you sir. There is so much to learn about electricity but what you get a group and classification system and laws. If I am awake I am learning something I didn't know or didn't quite catch the previous but 4 and keep up the good work brother

I'm a homeowner trying to wire my well and surface pumps instead of using an extension cord. Two of my pumps are on float switches but I want to force an on or off state regardless of the float status so I can backwash my filter tanks or test a pump after servicing it or pressurize and test a newly glued water pipe. This was really helpful and your instructions were so clear the even I understood them. Great job.

If 1 and 8 are power in (hot and neutral), then how can 2 and 7 also be hot and neutral? It would be good to show an example. Something like having a light come on when you push the on button and off when you push the off button. I am sending 120 vac to a control box. I want an on and off button and a light that comes on when I turn it on. Then the power goes to a cable and into another box. Do I need a relay for this? Paul

You could also use and 11 pin relay that will give you two more outputs. CM

Craig Michaud- Electrical Instructor, I have acquired the 11 pin relay with a Dayton 24VAC coil. How will the two sprinkler controllers connect to the 11 pin relay base to command the pump? Which terminals will the controllers P and Com connections from each controller terminate? Which terminals will the PSR terminate to? The 24VAC will come from each connected controller, how will they engage the relay to then start the pump?
@davidstraight4054 жыл бұрын
Craig Michaud- Electrical Instructor, If you don’t mind you can email me directly at david.straight@weathermatic.com. That way I can share pictures if needed and vice versa.

Craig Michaud- Electrical Instructor Hi, I’m not sure if you’ll ever see this but in hopes you do i have a question. I have a unit that controls fans when the sensor reaches a certain temperature. It’s a smd-tm1. I’ve been trying to wire it to a relay along with 2 fans. The unit has a red, black , and yellow for power. Yellow is trigger. Along with them 3 for power it has a white and black for the fans. I’m trying to wire it so when unit kicks the fans on the fans come on and when the unit kicks the fans off they go off. I’m only guessing this is done by the coil. It’s been a real struggle, if you happen to see this and could offer any assistance I’d be grateful. I’m using this I’m my stereo build in my car. 12v system . I have a 12v 30 Amp SPDT relay 30, 85, 85, 87, 87a I have only been successful in wiring that the relay does power the fans, but they stay on even when unit should have kicked them off.

Craig 1 comment I don't get.... (I understand relays) but I came here to here your explanation, but to maybe make the numbers "make sense." Almost ALL of my relays say (34-32-24-22-12) AND 31-21-11 On rare occasion or in small print, I "might" see the 1,2,3,4,5,6, etc etc but not prevalent or often. Obviously 31 switches between 32 and 34 ~ and 21 switches between 11 between 12 and 14 ~ 21 between 22 and 24 WHERE do they come up with those numbers? Any reason to them?

Any joy on my question?
@craigmichaud-electricalins46026 жыл бұрын
I have been working on trying to find you an answer. As I am working on this I can only think that this has to do something with a polarity issue. It is appearing to me you may need another relay. Again I am going on the info I am given. If I was to be able to put a meter on it then I would be able to give you a more accurate answer. I will have my email up soon maybe you can send a video and then maybe I can help you figure this issue out better. CM
