They always said that they couldn't tell us the title earlier because it would be a spoiler, and now what kind of tears have we seen in the franchise? The most important Tear in Zelda was Midna's which she used to Break the mirror and seal away the Twilight Realm. Being a princess, that literally could have been a Tear of her Kingdom EDIT: for those who replied to this, my point is, Midna's Tear is literally a Tear of her Kingdom, As ruler she embodies her realm. Also for those not liking Skyward Sword, give the switch port a try, it fixed a LOT of the originals issues, and turned me around to enjoying it way more. still not an A but a solid B

God I hope the Twili are indeed present in TotK, TP had some of my favorite dungeons from the series, and I love the aesthetic of the Twili! Moreso their lore and history! Though I doubt it, the Twili and Zonai could be one and the same. Both are associated as magic wielding tribes, with that distinctive green hue, the Zonai hail from the Faron region, which first showed up in TP, and both tribes worship animals as powerful Spirits; Midna and the Twili refer to Link's wolf form as a "divine beast", and the Zonai worship the Dragon of Courage, the Owl of Wisdom, and the Boar of Power. These could be inferenced as divine beasts as well. Plus each of the dungeons in BotW were called Divine Beasts. Coincidence? I think not!

When you watch closely, you see that Links Triforce of courage is glowing on his hand so it might have something to do with it.. So here is my take on the last bit. The Master Sword is known as the sword to banish evil. It acts as a seal, it has done so in OOT as well, so to say. Sometime in the time line, perhaps the next Hero after the Hero of Twili, had to reobtain the Master Sword, opening the seal that has kept Ganondorf from resurrecting and opening the valve of all the malice that has been building up until this point, triggering the first Calamity. After that, someone proficient with magic has placed the seal on top of ganons wound from which the malice dwells in the TotK Trailer, but the dwelling malice is enough to cause the reoccuring smaller Calamitys as the one we have fought in BotW.
@werbenjagerman907 Жыл бұрын
I like this idea, only problem is how prepared the sheikah were in the first calamity, unless you believe that there has been more than two calamities? Which very well could be the case.
@qap7 Жыл бұрын
@@werbenjagerman907 Yeah, maybe a little crackpot theory like but I figured there had to be a reason the Sheikah developed such advanced technology to build something like the guardians, towers or divine beasts in the first place, that trigger would be the first calamity. Regarding wether or not they have been prepared: I say no and they only barely won. The lore says the Sheikah prepared for the impending 'revival' of an ancient evil, but the descripting glyphes depict Ganon already as the horned boar beast somewhat similar to what we see in at the end of BotW, not as Ganondorf as seen sealed up in the TotK trailers, if you understand what I want to say. :D Edit: So the first Calamity was the one triggering the development of the technology, the second calamity was fought back using this technology 10.000 years ago, the third one was the one exploiting the Sheikah Tech we eventually fought at the end of the game, which would mean, given they appear every 10.000 years (?), between the second and the first one the Sheikah would have 10.000 years to develop the tech. Edit 2: The first Calamity would've been triggered by pulling the master sword, that could've happen through already leaking malice playing mindgames for the hero to open the door towards something greater for Ganondorf as in OOT. Not as detailed as I wished this would've been but I hope you get what I mean.

I'm excited to see where the game goes with linking elements of past games together. Something else I was thinking about was the trailer that contained indecipherable speech in it. I thought it would be evocative of Fi, but now I'm considering that both Fi and Midna have a similar means of speaking. In terms of Hyrule's history, the ties to Skyloft, the Twili, and potentially more callbacks like Picori could serve to standardize the connections between the games of the timeline as these ideas have become more refined. As with many early works in budding franchises, new ideas can come to recontextualize old ones. Ganon's backstory certainly wasn't about the sole male Gerudo warlord's malice sprung demonic curse in his inception, and many people can say the alleged split timeline of Zelda games makes little sense. Not only can new information strengthen those loose connections, but we could see certain niche design choices become staple in the Zelda series into the future, where Twili magic and Shiekah tech can be cited again for future stories, and new themes can be just as synonomous with Zelda as trials of courage and grabbing funky orbs and medals from sages has been thus far.

According to Zelda Book, BotW is, canonically, a sequel of the three timelines, yet it doesn't make sense at all; why it canonically connects with two non-canon* plots ? I do like your idea to bring back something to Skyloft, the Twili and Picori but what exactly could this be put on a game ? I mean, we have SS' theme (floating islands) with TP's ambience (Twilight/dark magic) but in a vast world how would the Picori fit ? You got me hella curious now since the Picori door opens a hundred years iirc and after TMC we never had exactly those years from it .. maybe they'll show up to fix the Master Sword and then guide Link to Four Sword/Picori Blade again and fuse it with Master Sword .. ? Baseless theory: In the game something is happening with malice despite Link seemingly seemingly fixing the issue by defeating Calamity Ganon. Turns out Calamity Ganon was just a manifestation of the malice pouring out of Ganondorf who is the true source of evil here. Link and Zelda after investigating what was going on eventually stumble onto Ganondorf deep underground and inadvertently release him. Hyrule is now in a worse state than its even been. Long ago according to legend Hyrule saved the Twili Realm from a crisis and now in Hyrule's darkest hour the Twili return to repay the favor. Probably way off as this relies on TP too much, it doesn't factor in the Zonai or explain what trapped Ganondorf in the first place. Calamity Ganon: (laughing) How brave. But bravery will not save you from my wrath. I will crush you both, and then I will rule over this world and the Twili realm as the ultimate power. Midna: (her eyes flashing with anger) Not if I have anything to say about it. With that, the final boss battle begins. Midna and Link use all of their skills and abilities to fight Calamity Ganon, but during the battle, Ganon injures Midna, causing her to fall back. Link continues to fight, but Midna needs time to recover and regain her strength

that "Tear of Light" looks more like Din's Flame from SS to me, yah know the thing that made the Master sword? and since BotW has nods to almost every zelda game ever made the direct TP connection feels forced. I like the Twili runes and long midna ears being pointed out though!

@brokendrumsticks21122 жыл бұрын
just play twilight princess again. it would be cool to see past zelda characters in this new game, but then again, it's a direct sequel to a game which takes place hundreds of thousands of years after the events of either oot or skyward sword, and besides, we don't even know what timeline it is in
@joesunday1992 жыл бұрын
@@brokendrumsticks2112 It wouldn't be the same. Twilight Princess's Twilight Realm is basically just a dungeon. As well as the Twili there aren't as fleshed out as the Races are in Breath Of The Wild.
@brokendrumsticks21122 жыл бұрын
@@joesunday199 hope all you want, but i'm sure that totk will be not what you hoped for, and you won't like it because it isn't what you wanted. there would be no reason to bring the twili back, because the only game that had them had the linear story based around them. and i don't see why there would be more than 2 worlds in totk, that wouldn't make much sense. having the twilight, the overworld, and the sky all in 1 game would be too much. they're probably gonna introduce a new race. or the sky is just gonna introduce new lore. they wouldn't just comply to one fanbase, that being tp, and ignore the other ones that are asking for new picori content, or more windwaker stuff, or whatever. it's probably gonna be something with the zonai, or the ancient sheikah. probably not the sheikah though, because they already did that with botw.
@joesunday1992 жыл бұрын
@@brokendrumsticks2112 We might not see them back in TOTK but it isn't impossible for them to come back. After all the Rito came back. They only even existed (from what I understand) because Hyrule got flooded. Yet they not only came back, but came with the Zora (from what I understand Rito evolved from Zora).

I like your Theory but there just 1 Problem that can't be ignored....... Breath of the Wild is at the end of Decline Timeline(Where Link losses to Ganon back in OoT) and Twilight Princess is not in that Timeline since it taking place After Majora's Mask and I'm Pretty Sure this Game is gonna be a Sequel to Breath of the Wild!

Do you have some sort of proof that Botw takes place in the Decline Timeline?
@TheSegacampGamerandWerecamp2 жыл бұрын
@@Nyarlabrotep yes I looked up a Retrospective on the Zelda Timeline and they said it took place at the end of the Timeline! so yes I can Confirm that!
@andresbarquin2 жыл бұрын
the games actual timeline placement has yet to be confirmed by the developers. all we have right now are theories regarding it's placement. the games could take place in the child timeline, and there is a lot of evidence to support that idea. but again we just have theories. we don't have any concrete placement just yet. my bet is that some time after the game releases, they will make another zelda timeline book with an updated timeline.

twilight princess its my second favorite game after botw and i would love to see a connection between the two but it seems almost imposible, botw should be in a unified timeline because of some names and events that some characters refer to like urbosa talking about nabooru the sage that never became one in the child timeline but it actually did in the other timelines, the problem is that in the adult timeline the master sword is lost sealing ganondorf under the sea and in the fallen hero timeline ganondorf becomes ganon forever and the master sword never appears after ¨a link to the past¨
