Absolutely Love this video. I have only one disagreement that I preach to my High Schoolers. That is I always Tell them to keep their hands up “ not stiff though” any where on the field. For me it helps them attack the ball quicker, Helps them to show their hands as late as possible. On the whip route or a dig their hands already being up it helps them to really focus on that cut and not worry about bringing the hands up. Lastly about hands up it’s just more intimidating and I want my Receivers to be in the secondary’s head. I tell them be boxers keep them up and don’t get knocked. With that I am very interested other thoughts on why I shouldn’t have them do it. I’m always looking to further their game and will have them try anything if it helps and you’re batting a 1000 for me there. So I will definitely look into letting them drop the hands. I wish I could post a picture here in comments so you could really break my receivers stance down. Thanks again. If you’re ever in STL, Mo with nothing to do you’re more than welcome to come to practice and hang with my Receivers at practice. Like I said you’re my go too for them 👊

Coach I don't know what to do, I'm going into freshman year, and I've never played Tackle football, only flag. I'm very undersized, i'm only 5'4 and 105 pounds. I've been working out a lot this summer to prepare as much as possible, but the numbers are going up very slowly. Even my family doesn't want me doing this. I would take a growth year but i'm already signed up and can't switch until the next quarter of school. I'm really nervous I'm about to get pancaked and crushed.

Honestly man you will be fine. You just haven’t hit a growth spurt yet. Just keep working and focusing on your skills. They don’t hit that hard at the freshman level

I got you I’ll make one, I think what you’re doing throwing the ball up can help but there are better alternatives. If you search up “first down training solo catching drills” on KZbin we have some there!
