The slide hint doesn't make any difference, it only indicates when you're in full sprint and able to slide. Even if it's off, you'll always end up crouching if you press slide before touching the ground.

To survive shotgun give distance and bunny hop means jumping while shooting and slide also

Slide hint setting doesn't make the character crouching. I have all settings similar to you and slide hint never make my character crouching, but when I disable my character crouch every time. Slide hint on is showing me when I have to tap the button and slide. In my opinion This is a good feature.
