I love Tilde. I also so a film once with a little called Tildie which I thought was also really sweet. Freya has always been in my top two names and I still love it specifically because of the Norse Goddess. I loved the idea of my daughter being named after such a strong and amazing character, but it became so popular on the UK that I dont know now if I would choose it solely because of its popularity.

Uuuuuhhhhh I love Swedish names!!!! Don’t know if we could get away with any other than Freya as we’re as British as it gets?? I went to school with an Ebba, Stina and (Ma)Tilda (in England). Love the name Ebba! Have you been watching BonusFamily on Netflix? I’m obsessed. It’s Swedish. There’s a female character called Lo and I was wondering if that’s a full name or short version? Also, video request..... can you do a 10 tips to a cosy Swedish home video? Or something like that? I want a lovely cosy home and love the Swedish style but everything scandi on Pinterest is all white and minimalist which I find a bit non-cosy. I’m terrible at interiors!

I once met a little Ebba (I'm Dutch) and I always remembered her name! She was 11 or so years old at the time and about to become a professional classical ballet dancer. She was literally always dancing! I always remembered her because Ebba sounded so elegant and strong at te same time, it fit her perfectly.

My family is also a Swedish family and our traditional family names are a bit interesting here in the United States. My grandmother and her sister were Elsa and Inga and who knew Disney would make Elsa so popular again. My great-grandmother's name is one of my most unique favorites - Axia. I have not heard it since but think it is very interesting!

Here is the US we say a harder I.. in Elvira. So it’s ELV-EYE-RA. Used in a popular song by the oak ridge boys. But I LOVE YOUR PRONUNCIATION OF IT MUCH MORE, sounds less harsh.

I love the name Freya, I didn’t realise it was Swedish! I really liked it when I was pregnant with my daughter but because I was a bit put off because it was so popular, I think that’s why I went with a similar sound with ‘Thea’ 😂 xx

I had a feeling that would be the theme haha Swedish names are so Strong and beautiful. I love Ebba, we have a singer here in Brazil called Elba and I always love the sound of it. I don't know...maybe because I love names ending with "ora" Nora/Cora/Dora (and my current favorite Theodora) I fell in love with the name Thora. It's definitely my favorite on your list. Elvira is a common name here in Brazil, well, not popular but there were some soap opera's villans called Elvira. I think is badass ! Even though I'm not in my dark/gothic phase anymore my heart still screams for that name. Oh and that would be an amazing topic don't you think ? Gothic names- Baby name Monday Halloween edition p.s: I've heard the day of the week Friday is after the goddess Freya. So it would be perfect to have a baby who was born on a Friday to be called Freya wouldn't it ?

I've probably commented it before, but I love Scandinavian (/Norse) names these days! :) (I have a Scandi name too, haha.) I think they are so strong, fierce and beautiful at the same time. I didn't like my name at all before, but now I've embraced it and I'm proud of my very Norwegian name, I am from Norway after all! I lived in the US for two semesters, and every person I met, was like "huh?" when I told them my name (in the Norwegian pronunciation) :)

Our daughter is due on October 31st and Freyja/Freya will be her first name. We are definitely torn on using the J or not. We live in Canada, and it is not a common name here.
