You can use Dream Lab to turn text into amazing images-lots of styles to choose from! Hello May, I would like to know how to make that yellow highlighted type on the words while reading the text. I have another channel on KZbin and on it I read texts so it would be easier for students to follow the reading. Is there this feature in Canva? If not, do you know how to do it?

Unfortunately, you can’t do this in Canva right now-they’re adding new features soon, and I hope this will be one of them because it’s definitely needed! If you don’t want to wait and prefer a free solution (since automatic options can be costly), you can use PowerPoint 😅 Here’s how: Step 1: Open PowerPoint • Create a new blank presentation. Step 2: Add Your Text • Click on “Insert” > “Text Box” and draw a text box on the slide. • Type the text you want to display. Step 3: Apply the Highlight Animation • Select the text you want to highlight. • Go to the “Animations” tab. • Click on “Add Animation” and choose “Brush Color”. • In the animation settings, set the effect to change the text color to yellow. Step 4: Adjust Animation Timing • Open the “Animation Pane” from the “Animations” tab. • Right-click on the animation and select “Timing”. • Set “Start” to “On Click” (for manual control) or “With Previous” (for automatic timing). • Adjust the “Duration” and “Delay” to sync the highlight with your narration. Step 5: Add Your Video • If you already have a video, click on “Insert” > “Video” > “Video on My PC”. • Select your video file and insert it into the slide. Step 6: Export as a Video • Go to **“File” > “Export” > “Create a Video”. • Choose your desired video quality and click “Create Video”. • Save the video file to your computer.

Over on crystal crafties youtube she does a text outline infun patterns. She does it in Inkscape. I want to do in canva. Is that possible? Thank you

I watched the video you’re referring to, and yes, it’s definitely possible to do something similar in Canva! The first (and easiest) option is to click on your text, go to Effects, choose the Outline effect, set the outline color to match your text, and increase the outline thickness. After that, you can create a patterned text using the apps Typecutout or FontFrame and place it on top of the outlined text. The second option is to turn your outlined text into a frame and fill it with any pattern you like. It has more steps but offers endless possibilities! I believe that with Canva Pro, you can use your designs commercially, and since the text maker is part of Canva, it should be fine. But I’m not 100% sure! Where do you sell? I’ve been thinking about making videos on how to sell your designs as printable art on Etsy-let me know if that’d be helpful! 😊
