Actually Sayyid Ammar showed a translation of Sunan Ibn Majah where Maula is translated as friend. But I have another translation by Nasiruddin Al-khattab where it’s translated to master. So these translators may not necessarily be correct, but we all already knew that!

Muslims who were and are hesitant to acknowledge the merits of Ali when the Prophet (PBUH) declared it and announced his leadership after him amazes me. We say we obey and love the Prophet (PBUH) but somehow show our reservation towards Ali. Why? Those who fought Ali had earned the condemnation of the Prophet and Allah. There is no ifs and buts here. In fact by relegating Ali to the back bench of Islamic legacy we are arguably doing the same to our Prophet (PBUH). We cannot have one without the other, malice not withstanding. Let Truth rise above historical jealousy and historical revision.

I don’t know how some Of our muslim brothers will hold on and believe that companions were such a good friends and trustable people when we have from the beginning of times stories brothers kill each other from jealousy , most of prophets were not having trustable people around them and were constantly being betrayed , nowadays you cannot find one single trustable person to whom you can share a secret with but when it comes to The Best Creation which is prophet Mohamed it’s like all companions are sacred and trustable for them but his family is not ! Guys are you serious ? It’s a common sense and you should use a bit your logic and you have plenty of proofs in your books to question their trust ! It’s not that hard and it’s so clear for some people ! Truly the hearts are blind and guidance comes together with the purity of the soul ! Even if we bring the entire proofs it’s about your clean hearts ! And surely Allah is just , we will not reach in the same place !

It is imperative for our Sunni brothers to objectively consider the factual information provided concerning Ali's guardianship, as reiterated multiple times, along with references such as the holy prophet's final sermon at Ghadir Kumm and the verses of Surah Maidah. These references distinctly point towards Ali's authority post the holy prophet's passing, thus indicating the path of Ali as the sole authentic route to follow after the holy prophet.

My dear friend, practically no Muslim from the Sunnit world doubts Hadith Al-Ghadir and believes that Ali, peace be upon him, should be the first Caliph. The issue is not that Ali, peace be upon him, was deprived following our Prophet, but that Shiism has ascribed to him divine authority and ruling heritage. There is no doubt that Omar and Uthman snitched the caliphate from him. We could discuss Abu Bakr because he did not struggle to become Caliph, and even Omar said he was a slipping mistake. And some constructive criticism: I would welcome you to refrain from getting so excited and screaming while arguing. It makes it easier to listen and follow, and I do not mean this ironically, but I really mean this. Ramada Karim

If you believe in Hadith Al-Ghadir then you believe that Imam Ali has divine authority. Otherwise you have a distorted image of Muhammed’s status. Since the prophet (as) has divine authority and during the Hadith he states that whomever the prophet is his mawla, Ali is his mawla. You must understand that the prophets words are gods words. Which means god is speaking through prophet Muhammed (as). So when the prophet is stating this god is his witness.

Brother/sister - please don't take any offence from this but every Sunni I have met (I have met many and have exceptionally close sunni friends) has never ascribed Imam Ali pbuh to be the first caliph. To even insinuate to the general Sunni population that Imam Ali pbuh had the caliphate usurped from him by Abu Bakr and Umar would have them going mental - and not in a good way.
