The USA is quite vast. Its a continent with different cultures. Research can prepare you somewhat but you have to live here to know it. The essential things that everyone should know about before coming here are credit and tipping as you pointed out.

PREPARATION eliminates PRESSURE. PREPARATION is the POSITIOINING of PREVENTATIVE MEASURES against the onslaught of ADVERSITY. Hence, the QUALITY of one's PREPARATION determines the QUALITY of one's PERFORMANCE. Inevitably, MASTERY of any subject matter takes a MINIMUM of 5 YEARS or 10,000 HOURS. TREMENDOUS THANKS for your TRANSPARENCY.

I don't know which state you are referring to but some things don't add up. Low income resident have the best insurance because they have medecaid
@thinknursing
@thinknursing 13 күн бұрын
@@claudettewebber the ones who have Medicaid can access care in the hospitals but other things they need access to they can’t. Accessing some things outpatient is difficult for some as well based on my experience with the folks I work with. But it’s maybe due other reasons why their situation are like that but a lot are having a very HARD time. Thanks for watching and sharing. Appreciate your time 😉

So basically you didn’t do much research before moving and prior to moving you never been there before. So take away for those who didn’t consider this action before moving to anywhere is to research the area and culture before you arrive.
@thinknursing
@thinknursing 13 күн бұрын
@@user-fy9ob2tq7u I honestly didn’t do much research on things like those because some were a little familiar. But I was most focused on the opportunities I was about to get from coming to the US 🫣. But I definitely encourage for persons to do so because there’s so much to learn. Thanks so much for watching and learning.

I get the sentiment to your comment, but I think research would not be as helpful as you think. Visiting the US vs. living in the US is not comparable. As a visitor, your worldview will be different from what it is like living in the US, and this can be extended to any foreign area. Experiential knowledge is something you can't get a shortcut to.

I love working with US nurses oppose to our Island nurses because they are very pleasant and understands customer service. After your assessment I’ve now understood the reason for the meanness behind some island nurses, this is because they don’t want anyone to assume they are nice or maybe a ‘pushover’? Either way, I believe that when you’re in the line of working with the public you need to have a pleasant disposition, it’s not about being fake but being customer friendly. Thank you for your assessment.

I think you totally missed her point on the topic.. Island people or Jamaican people are the most genuine people in the world and are known for their world class service.. she was making reference to the disingenuous nature of the work place in American culture..
@thinknursing
@thinknursing 6 күн бұрын
Thanks for sharing. Appreciate that. Working with persons who are not always smiling is okay for me because at least I know when they’re genuine or not. And not everyone finds comfort in a smiling face because some can be awful and don’t mean you well under the smile. My island nurses I’ll never give up because whether or not they smile, customer service and patient care is still EXCELLENT no matter what. Big up to the island nurses whether or not you smile-I’m sure customer are pleased with the service you render to them. Either way, this wasn’t a post only about nurses but an observation about the US population in and out of the work environment.
