Don't mean to be a party crasher, but really enjoy your videos. I've lived and taught overseas in Cairo for years and every summer I'd return to the States to witness more police brutality, more protests, and cycles of historic violence repeating. I'm a White woman living in the South and the history here is so heavy, you can cut the tension between people with a knife. My husband and I will go back overseas soon because neither of us want to deal with this dynamic. He's Egyptian and as an immigrant deals with discrimination as well. It's terrible that the US just can't acknowledge and rectify its history so we can all get off of this destructive roller coaster. Totally respect what you do and why you do it, wish you much success! Thanks for your valuable insights! 🌺

We actually did - and I am half-regretting it. I inherited a largish house (3-story) in Eastern Europe - but it was already full of the furniture. We moved our stuff from the US there as well, as a result over-populating the house with our stuff. Later I moved part-time to France, the house there is already stuffed with the furniture. We are fighting our stuff since we moved out of USA (and relief is nowhere in sight). It's just TO MUCH STUFF. The quality of the furniture (used) is OK in general, in Western Europe (see Portugal) should be very good.

I will be 79 in October 2021, and happy I travelled on my own dime, from age 20-73. I was born, educated, and earned all my income from working.. I share most generously with non beggars. Acapulco and Singapore were the only places I wanted to retire, but the earthquakes and the expensive cost of living were the deal breakers. There is no reason for people living and dying on the streets. Replace the incomes, when you shut down incomes. My choice was to work, travel, and help where I could with both hands.

I’m a single mother of 4 and I’ve been speaking moving my family out of the US since 2017. I’d love to see videos from you regarding families, single mothers, and education in the expat experience. 🙏🏽 Sis

@@StephaniePerry Hi Stephanie, thanks for the info. I need to ask you some questions. I think your coaching services are just for potential house sitters or for people who want to be nomadic, correct? I don’t fall into those categories, but I was wondering if I could contact you for my questions via your online site anyway.

@@melissadperkins2988 - Another expat suggested never moving to anyplace you haven’t visited at least 5 times. This way, you have a first hand experience - not rumors, bad info, other’s opinions, or outright lies. Visiting means YOU see the place for YOURSELF.

@@bumblebee4024 Thanks for your input. I don't think I can afford to visit anywhere five times (money nor timewise). When this pandemic calms down, I plan to do some onsite investigation. At this time, I'm trying to narrow down the field by gathering as much information as I can. When I move, I'm moving for good. I'm not coming back to the States, so my decision has to be one that I can live with for quite some time.

Hey Steph, seen some of your videos here and there randomly and I'm half-way through this one and really interested to see it through and perhaps go watch some of your other ones. I'm neither a woman, nor am I African diaspora, nor am I American, but the stuff you say really resonates nonetheless. I'm in Canada, in the middle of a career sabbatical (think I'd watched your other video last year and it was part of the research I did) and I'm soon going to be fulfilling my life dream of moving to Japan and I'm lucky enough to do it with my beautiful amazing partner. Keep making amazing stuff and stay safe.

Glad you mentioned about the internet in Johannesburg. I went 5 years ago and the wifi was practically nonexistent! They rip off foreigners with Vodacom sim cards that cost ridiculous amount for data. Also Dominican Republican no wifi at my 5 star Wyndham resort, not even in their business center (it was down the whole trip). That led to one of the worst solo travel experiences ever! I forgot to bring my printed transfers, driver refused me transport me without it. Had to pay a taxi $100 usd additional.
