Note: Nainital & Mussorie in Uttarakhand Laterite soil: It has less humus and is nutrient poor. Due to high rate of weathering and low charge minerals, soil is unable to retain nutrients for plant growth. It does not contain high humus content due to high temperature micro organisms cannot survive which are main source for converting organic matter into humus and also there is high rainfall which cause leaching.
