Prototype was one of my favorite games of all time....the power you wield.....the chaos breaking out all around the city while you watch from a roof...the fact you can crank it up to 11 by getting involved . I hope it gets a remake or reboot one day

Does anyone think Shadow of the Colossus could be adapted into an anime? 🤔 You don’t need much dialogue to keep in spirit with the game, but an ep dedicated to each colossi would be excellent.
@incredibleflameboy
@incredibleflameboy Жыл бұрын
I respectfully disagree and I'll explain why. The colossi all come across as super evil violent things until you realise that they're mostly minding their own business and wander (and by extension) the player is the one who's going in and committing genocide. It adds a bit of weight to the players actions when you realise that you're the middle man for the bad guy and not only that you acted in a very evil way to achieve it. I think being passive in the story removes elements of the narrative and would spoil it a fair bit. If you'd like some other medium with the game, there is a film called rain over me that uses shadow of the Colossus as a plot point and a metaphor for the grief and deterioration of mental health that a character holds over the 9/11 attacks. If I remember right it stars Adam Sandler and it's really good although it's quite heavy watching because of the subject matter as I'm sure you can appreciate however I do recommend it if you like dramas with dark plots and can stomach the gut punch ending.

To be fair, in Diablo the protagonist did what they did because: 1) he was distraught from realizing in killing Diablo he also killed his little brother, Albrect; 2) leaving the (unbeknownst to everyone but the Three Brothers and Izual) corrupted soulstone of Diablo unattended allowed him to corrupt others anyways. The protagonist (Prince Aiden) just tried to pull a Tal Rjasha, but without the (admittedly necessary) specially prepared tomb to help complete the containment. A short-term measure for a long-term problem. Also Adria sped up Aiden's corruption by a sizable margin. Bitch.

One of the interesting parts of Prototype was the comic book series leading up to Prototype 2. In the comics it shows how Alex tried to be the hero and save people in different situations around the world only to see the power vacuums he created leading ultimately to his disdain for the human race

Huh, I did wonder why he went from just bit of a whiny douche to a super turbodouche. I actually played them backwards so I knew where things were headed but after playing the first one I felt like the writers dud Alex dirty by making him a fairly one dimensional villain without explanation.

Those of us who remember getting Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy III/VI, and/or the first few Legend of Zelda games are depressingly close to being middle aged. Many of us still enjoy a good RPG, but simply don’t have time for a Skyrim or an Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla since we now have jobs and/or families to attend to. So, how about a list of Great RPGs for Working Adults? I think Jules and his neck vein Jeremey can come up with a good one.
@safaiaryu12
@safaiaryu12 Жыл бұрын
Dang, that would be a nice list to bolster my wishlist... it's so hard to start a story-heavy game nowadays knowing that it may take me months or even years to beat it around my work schedule.
@Falchion1984
@Falchion1984 Жыл бұрын
@@safaiaryu12 For me, it's the laundry list of uninteresting stuff you need to do to get the best gear. For an excellent illustration of my point, do some light research on how to get Paragon Weapons and Armor in Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization. Getting them for your main character is quite a hassle, but getting them for ALL the main characters? I did it, and I should have my head examined because just that took MONTHS! Like I said, great RPGs with few to no laundry lists would would fit this topic very well.
@safaiaryu12
@safaiaryu12 Жыл бұрын
@@Falchion1984 Oh heck, that's a really good point... I don't mind grinding sometimes, it can be a kind of zen thing to do when you want to play a particular game but can't deal with more cerebral tasks, but it would be nice to have a good game where that's not actually required.
@Falchion1984
@Falchion1984 Жыл бұрын
@@safaiaryu12I'd prefer grinding when it's not artificially inflated for no good reason. In that game I cited, Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization, getting a Paragon Weapon requires finding a base weapon, transforming it using a LOT of rare drops you need to stockpile, and then a combination of fetch quests and varied quests (perform X number of move Y), and then killing an event boss that you have to wait to spawn. That. Is. Too. Darned. Much.

MGS1 had Solid Snake use the failsafe to turn on metal gear thinking he was turning it off causing him to have to fight it rather than just leave it(Liquid didn't have the key or secret to activating it himself). Not as major as some of the ones on the list, but turning on a bunch of nuclear weapon launching death robots in your enemies control sounds like a very bad move for the safety of everyone on earth.

@webhead4414

Unless you're being sarcastic, there isn't any guarantee that sacrificing Ellie would have worked. In fact, the chances of it were next to zero. One sample so almost no margin for error in creating a vaccine to a novel virus in a post apocalyptic world with no fancy technology or many (if any) virologists to really give it a shot.

@@0potion Sometime like that, for sure. He’s just way more integrated with the virus than anyone else, and I don’t see it possible to make someone stronger than himself, whether intentional or not, just due to his relationship with it. Course, it’s not entirely u heard of. There are plenty of examples where the BBEG bestows a fraction of his power into someone, or makes a clone or something that does eventually overthrow him. This just doesn’t feel like that example.

-I did not understand a thing you said about Live A Live. -Who would have known that sticking a giant Soul Stone filled with evil energy right into your forehead would have been a bad idea? Seemed like a good idea at the time before the consequences. -Joel made the right choice saving Ellie since these guys suck at making a cure and killed several people. According to Game Theory it may be possible to make a cure without killing her and mentioned how they should do it. 11:36 Don't you mean burning him to death with a flamethrower? -12:23 Pal? Don't you mean girlfriend? I did like how there a theories saying that a horned Wander made love with Mono which would be very twisted since she's at least 15 years older than him physically. Isn't that what happened that led to the events of Ico?

Um one of the latter plot points in Prototype is that you haven't been playing as Alex Mercer, but as a sapient strain of the blacklight virus that absorbed Mercers memories. One of the things that makes the sequel suck is that VirusMercer was actually way more moral and loving to his sister than HumanMercer as he was a sociopath. Then in sequel he's suddenly evil... For some reason.
