I use them as 'rubber bands' I cut them about 1/2 wide, and stack my open end wrenches from small to large, and wrap the 'tube rubber band' around both open ends of the stack of wrenches. Its a nice snug fit, and they nest on my top tray of my tool box. I always know where they are. -- I have an old dirt bike; I use "tube rubber band' for tank straps. (sometimes you just need to hold down your dirt bike tank... -- I use bicycle tubes for my linked chain. I slip the chain thru the tube, and leave 2 links sticking out of each end of the cut tube; its great for a heavy duty lock. Yes, chain can be cut, but... you know... it still works. -- cut tubes are great to attach above a padlock hasp to keep the weather off the padlock. -- you can use them for handle bar grips (in a pinch). -- adding them for your inner tube patch kit is a great use of tubes. -- You could use them as a mudflap (for a dirt bike) to keep mud from flinging onto the front of the engine case. -- You can add one to the exhaust tip of a dirt bike (or any exhaust tip) and make funny noises with it. Its a head turner for sure. (lol) -- You can cut small circles out of them, and glue them to the bottom of what ever you want to be "non-slip" maybe the bottom of a laptop or something - be creative! -- you could slip one over a screw driver handle so you have a bit of grip. -- Think outside the box.

I use small rectangular pieces of inner tubes to refill patch kits. They work really well for permanent repairs as long as you scuff them first. The nice thing with this is that you keep larger pieces for dealing with things like pinch flats, or cut them down for smaller punctures. I haven't bought patch kits in years.

also good as rim tape

Love the bolt slip idea. Not a cyclist, but cycle shops are a great source of maker materials, cables, chains and gears that in a slower lower torque use will last many years. . I used lengths of tubes as pneumatic actuators under a gravel path for haloween, driven by a set of valves, arduino. Great video

They make good draught excluders on my doors. Just staple into place.

Can you also do a video about things to do with old bike tires?

I just used some cut up pieces to repair the back of the heel part inside my dr martens shoes (just used a bunch of superglue and wham, they're good to go again)

I would use them as a resistance bands, but some hiker I passed by told me this trick about using a recycled bike tubes as tourniquet. He only told me about it. I don't know how it works but it was good trick of trade.

Door sweep. Cut it length wise, and put it at the bottom of the door... (I use one at my basement screen door). You can also cover out door hinges with it.

Hi...dont forget that you can open that tube ( like with the slingshit) open any old door, folded in half wrap the closed end around the knob, with the rest outside the door. Shut the door and you have made a lighter resistance strength trainer that can work the whole body without having to move the tube.

Oh man... Now I wish I had some extra inner tubes 😂 haven't had any flats to use tubes to the point where I could cut them up... And is it just me, or are tubes expensive? 😂🤦♂️ $5-$8 retail!? Lol... I really like the bike stand one...
@PennyPinchingCyclist5 жыл бұрын
haha! Ya, thanks to tubeless I haven't had a flat in while. I help coach the PHS mountain bike team, so most of the tubes in the video were from students who have gotten flats over the season. Thanks for taking the time to watch a video and comment, I appreciate it!!

I used mine for chain guide protection for years and then I made the letter I big I with two lines top n bottom I used it over a pivot point on my bike. I use the two lines fold them over where they are zip tie now it save the pivot from dirts and rocks. I have a video on it if you check my channel out and I too like to diy and find ways to save money
