Lyft and Uber has become one of the worst jobs ever , Uber is ripping off the drivers taking 65% to 70% from drivers income, riders telling me he got charged $110 for 15 miles ride, I got out of that $110 $35 that’s it, all rides in San Francisco $5 $4 what a joke has this company has become.

You are wrong. He was making an average of $75 an hour! Nobody's going to pay you for online time sitting there doing nothing with your car parked. So $75 an hour and it cost $80 a day for the rental - gas so it's way better than anything else on Uber.... I am the next one up to rent this car. I'm going to double my $37 an hour active time on my XL... also these numbers do not include Lyft!!!

I appreciate you sharing. I had to decide whether to go black (commercial insurance) or not. I decided the upside of killer weeks with 40% higher gross sales were not worth the extra cost of commercial insurance and just running X, Premier, Comfort, Comfort Electric and Lyft Lux and Lyft XL.

Although the payment for Lyft is not shown, Uber typically gets the major share. After deducting the gas and rental, what's more important, the suffering of long waiting in the car: 50+ hours out of 80+ hours (you cannot do anything except waiting in the car); it's more wise to just get a normal paying office job while doing uber black as a side hustle if needed.

His tips are not great - especially in a Black. I'm pulling tips of 20-25% on top of earnings driving normal Lyft. His best week was about 10% in tips. Ooof. Maybe he was getting a bunch of Lyft or private rides? That would explain the really high "online time" and low "active time". Did you ask if he was getting good private rides?

I would think if you stay busy then you should get twice as many trips as hours. So for 90 hours maybe 180 trips. 2 trips an hour unless the trips are long.
