#8 Why is the 3point bank shot so rarely used in NBA? - I made 100 3 point bank shot

I just started playing for the first time after 20 years and I swear the bank shot is a much higher percentage shot. If a simulation was performed, keeping the angle of release the same, the area of allowable miss on a bank shot vs just hoop would be larger I think. The only downside is the closer you get to the corner 3s.

yes!!! i noticed that, with some practice, even 3 points as a bank-shot the percentage is much higher, i assume professionals can do even better, that's why i am a bit confused why nobody is doing this all the time?

@@boosted91 haha i didn't calculate, but in the game i can't shoot too well still, next time with more times i would love to do more proper analysis :)

@@2park_ yes I like the angle where it’s up close looking diagonally where you can see the ball hit the backboard then go in the rim

My point was, it can work really high percentage shots if one gives a bit of practice and incentive! It was in Korea, a couple months ago :) only editing now !

@@2park_ I remember seeing a video that some Korean pros use the bank shot for free throws. So you might be up to something...

@@pacov.8300 haha I saw that too !!! Although I found that front bank shot is much harder for 3’ the arch requires much higher, free throw might be a bit different hey ?
